Greg O'Shea (rugby Union)
Gregory O'Shea (born 23 March 1995) is an Irish people, Irish rugby union player. He played for the Ireland national rugby sevens team, usually as a Rugby union positions#Fly-half, fly-half. In July 2019, O'Shea partnered with Amber Gill won the Love Island (2015 TV series, series 5), fifth series of ''Love Island (2015 TV series), Love Island'' Early life and education O'Shea is from Limerick, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. Limerick
Limerick ( ; ga, Luimneach ) is a western city in Ireland situated within County Limerick. It is in the province of Munster and is located in the Mid-West which comprises part of the Southern Region. With a population of 94,192 at the 2016 census, Limerick is the third-most populous urban area in the state, and the fourth-most populous city on the island of Ireland at the 2011 census. Munster Schools Rugby Senior Cup
The Munster Schools Senior Cup or Munster Senior Cup is the under-age rugby union competition for schools affiliated to the Munster Branch of the IRFU. The inaugural Munster Schools Senior Cup took place in 1909 and, since then, Cork city's two all-boys schools have been to the fore as the only rugby playing schools in the city. Christian Brothers College have 31 titles, whilst Presentation Brothers College have 30. Rockwell College (26) were once the team to beat in the competition, holding the record for most wins until the 1980s. However, Rockwell have only won the cup five times since. Limerick CBS (4) won Limerick's first trophies in the 1920s and 1930s, followed by Crescent College (11) which contributed three in the 1940s and 1950s, whilst St. Munchin's (5) won their first in 1968. The Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) ( ga, Cumann Rugbaí na hÉireann) is the body managing rugby union in the island of Ireland (both Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland). World Rugby Sevens Series
The World Rugby Men's Sevens Series is an annual series of international rugby sevens tournaments run by World Rugby featuring national sevens teams. Organised for the first time in the 1999–2000 season as the IRB World Sevens Series, the competition was formed to promote an elite-level of international rugby sevens and develop the game into a viable commercial product. The competition has been sponsored by banking group HSBC since 2014. The season's circuit consists of 10 tournaments that generally begin in November or December and last until May. The venues are held across 10 countries, and visits five of the six populated continents. The United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, France and England each host one event. 2019 Hong Kong Sevens
The 2019 Hong Kong Sevens was a rugby sevens tournament that took place at the Hong Kong Stadium between the 5–7 April 2019. It was the 44th edition of the Hong Kong Sevens, and the seventh tournament of the 2018–19 World Rugby Sevens Series. Sixteen teams competed in the main tournament, while a further twelve competed in a qualifier tournament with the winner getting core team status for the 2019–20 World Rugby Sevens Series. After securing three wins from three in their "pool of death", Fiji became the first team to win five consecutive Hong Kong titles after they defeated France 21–7. The United States came in third after losing to Fiji in the semi final before dispatching Samoa (who lost to France) in the third place playoff by 12 points. The 2018 Rugby World Cup Sevens was the seventh edition of the Rugby World Cup Sevens. Organised by World Rugby, it was held at AT&T Park, now known as Oracle Park, in San Francisco, United States. A total of 84 matches were played over three days from July 20–22, 2018. The men’s tournament had 24 teams and the women’s tournament 16, with both tournaments being played for the first time in a knock-out only format. New Zealand won the championship for both events — defeating England in the men's final and France in the women's final. 2018 Hong Kong Sevens
The 2018 Hong Kong Sevens was the 43rd edition of the Hong Kong Sevens tournament, and the seventh tournament of the 2017–18 World Rugby Sevens Series. The performance from this tournament determined the first fourteen seedings of the 2018 Rugby World Cup Sevens tournament alongside the past year's series and the previous six event of the 2017–18 season. Fiji won the tournament, defeating Kenya 24–12 in the final. Fiji were dominant throughout the tournament, including a 50–7 thrashing of New Zealand during pool play. In the World Series Qualifier tournament, Ireland were the dominant team during pool play, but Japan beat Ireland 12–7 in the semifinal, and went on to beat Germany 19–14 in the final to qualify for the 2018-19 World Series as a core team. Russia National Rugby Sevens Team
The Russia national rugby sevens team competed in the World Rugby Sevens Series and the Rugby World Cup Sevens. After the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, World Rugby and Rugby Europe suspended Russia from international and European continental rugby union competition. In addition, the Rugby Union of Russia was suspended from World Rugby and Rugby Europe. Rugby World Cup Sevens Russia has competed at the 2001, 2005 and 2013 Rugby World Cup Sevens. The team won the Plate final in 2001 to end 9th, with wins over Kenya, Spain and Georgia. In 2005 they finished 11th, collecting wins over Kenya, Uruguay and Japan. The ''Limerick Post'' is a free weekly newspaper, distributed throughout Limerick city and county, parts of counties Clare, Tipperary in the province of Munster, Ireland.
