Greg Ellis (born 21 March 1968) is a British actor. Career On the big screen, he is best known for his portrayal of Lieutenant Theodore Groves in Disney's '' Pirates of the Caribbean film series'' as well as appearing in J.J. Abrams ''Star Trek'' as Chief Engineer Olsen, the original chief engineer of the Starship Enterprise. He starred in the western '' Forsaken'' alongside Demi Moore with Donald Sutherland and Brian Cox. Greg Ellis (American Football)
Gregory Lemont Ellis (born August 14, 1975) is a former football defensive end who played in the National Football League (NFL) for twelve seasons. He played college football for the University of North Carolina, and was recognized as an All-American. He was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the first round of the 1998 NFL Draft, and also played a season for the Oakland Raiders. Ellis has also produced for television and film, including as the executive producer of the 2015 sports film ''Carter High''. Early years Ellis was born in Wendell, North Carolina. He attended East Wake High School in Wendell. He was named Male High School Athlete of the Year in 1993 by the ''Raleigh News and Observer''. College career Ellis attended the University of North Carolina, and played for the North Carolina Tar Heels football team from 1994 to 1997.
