Greg Davidson (American Football)
Gregory Merle Davidson (born April 24, 1958) is a former American football center who played in the National Football League for three seasons. He played college football at North Texas and was signed by the Houston Oilers as an undrafted free agent in 1980. Professional career Houston Oilers Davidson signed with the Houston Oilers as an undrafted free agent following the 1980 NFL Draft. He played in 39 games for Houston over the next three seasons, serving as the backup center and long snapper. He was released before the 1983 season. San Antonio Gunslingers/Michigan Panthers In 1984, Davidson was signed by the San Antonio Gunslingers and quickly traded to the Michigan Panthers. Davidson did not play for either team. Houston Gamblers Davidson was signed by the Houston Gamblers on April 26, 1984. He played six games for the Gamblers in the 1984 season. Center or Centre (C) is a position in gridiron football. The center is the innermost lineman of the offensive line on a football team's offense. The center is also the player who passes (or "snaps") the ball between his legs to the quarterback at the start of each play. The importance of centers for a football team has increased, due to the re-emergence of 3–4 defenses. According to Baltimore Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome, "you need to have somebody who can neutralize that nose tackle. If you don't, everything can get screwed up. UConn Huskies Football
The UConn Huskies football team is a college football team that represents the University of Connecticut in the sport of American football. The team competes in NCAA Division I FBS as an Independent. Connecticut first fielded a team in 1896, and participated in Division I-AA until 1999. The Huskies began their two-year Division I-A transition period in 2000, and became a full-fledged Division I-A team in 2002. From 2000 to 2003 the team played as an independent. The school's football team then joined the conference of its other sport teams, the Big East (later named the American Athletic Conference (the American) in 2013), taking effect in 2004, through 2019. Azle, Texas
Azle ( ) is a small city west of Fort Worth in Parker and Tarrant Counties in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 10,947. Azle is the home of the Azle Marching Green Pride marching band and the Fighting Azle Hornets. Geography Azle is on State Highway 199, northwest of downtown Fort Worth, in the northwest corner of Tarrant County; the town extends partly into Parker County. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of , of which is land and , or 0.20%, is covered by water. History The first recorded settlement at the site occurred in 1846, when James Azle Steward, a young doctor, moved into a log cabin built by a Dutchman named Rumsfeldt. Other settlers came and established themselves near the local streams, Ash Creek, Silver Creek, and Walnut Creek. Steward helped establish the first cemetery, Ash Creek.
