Hank Williams Jr
Randall Hank Williams (born May 26, 1949), known professionally as Hank Williams Jr. or Bocephus, is an American singer-songwriter and musician. His musical style is often considered a blend of southern rock, blues, and country. He is the son of country musician Hank Williams and the father of musicians Holly Williams and Hank Williams III. Williams began his career following in his famed father's footsteps, covering his father's songs and imitating his father's style. Williams' first television appearance was in a 1964 episode of ABC's ''The Jimmy Dean Show'', in which at age fourteen he sang several songs associated with his father. Later that year, he was a guest star on ''Shindig!'' Williams' style evolved slowly as he struggled to find his own voice and place within country music. MGM Records
MGM Records was a record label founded by the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film studio in 1946 for the purpose of releasing soundtrack recordings (later LP albums) of their musical films. It transitioned into a pop music label that continued into the 1970s. The company also released soundtrack albums of the music for some of their non-musical films as well, and on rare occasions, cast albums of off-Broadway musicals such as ''The Fantasticks'' and the 1954 revival of ''The Threepenny Opera''. In one instance, MGM Records released the highly successful soundtrack album of a film made by another studio, Columbia Pictures's ''Born Free'' (1966). "Rainin' in My Heart" is a song written by James Moore (aka Slim Harpo) and Jerry West (an alias used by J. D. "Jay" Miller) and performed by Harpo. It reached number 17 on the U.S. R&B chart and number 34 on the U.S. pop chart in 1961. It was featured on his 1961 album ''Slim Harpo Sings "Raining in My Heart..."'' It is not to be confused with the similarly titled Buddy Holly song, "Raining in My Heart". Slim Harpo (born James Isaac Moore; January 11, 1924 – January 31, 1970) was an American blues musician, a leading exponent of the swamp blues style, and "one of the most commercially successful blues artists of his day". He played guitar and was a master of the blues harmonica, known in blues circles as a "harp". His most successful and influential recordings included "I'm a King Bee" (1957), " Rainin' in My Heart" (1961), and "Baby Scratch My Back" (1966), which reached number one on ''Billboard'''s R&B chart and number 16 on its broader Hot 100 singles chart.
