Rodney Allan Atkins (born March 28, 1969) is an American country music singer and songwriter. Signed to Curb Records in 1996, he charted his first single on the ''Billboard'' country chart in 1997, but did not release an album until 2003's ''Honesty'', which included the hit single "Honesty (Write Me a List)". '' If You're Going Through Hell'', his second album, was released in 2006. Its first two singles, " If You're Going Through Hell (Before the Devil Even Knows)" and " Watching You", each spent four weeks at number one the country music chart, and were respectively ranked as the top country songs of 2006 and 2007 according to Billboard Year-End. Background and writing Co-writer Rhett Akins came up with the song's title after hearing a friend say that listening to a Hank Williams Jr. album made him "want to ride a dirt road right now." Billy Kirsch is an American songwriter and consultant. Early life Billy Kirsch attended Wesleyan University before leaving college to become a musician, focusing on a career as a jazz musician. Angelo Petraglia (born May 5, 1954) is an American record producer and songwriter. He was a member of the new wave band Face to Face and is best known for his work with Kings of Leon. Ben Hayslip (born March 11, 1970 in Evans, Georgia) is an American country music songwriter. Early life Hayslip first attended Valdosta High School in Valdosta GA where he was a freshman quarterback for the 1984 State and National champion Valdosta Wildcats. In 1985 his family relocated to Evans, Georgia where Hayslip attended Evans High School near Augusta, Georgia. Hayslip became a four-year starter and an All-State first baseman helping to lead the Evans baseball team to a runner-up finish in the 1985 State Championship.
