British Olympic Association
The British Olympic Association (BOA) is the National Olympic Committee for the United Kingdom. Shooting is the act or process of discharging a projectile from a ranged weapon (such as a gun, bow, crossbow, slingshot, or blowpipe). Martyn Woodroffe
Martyn John Woodroffe (born 8 September 1950) is a Welsh swimmer. Swimming career He won a silver medal at the 1968 Olympic Games. Woodroffe was born in Cardiff, Wales. He represented Wales at the 1966 British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Kingston, Jamaica, and 1970 British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh, Scotland, winning one silver and two bronze medals at the latter. In 1968 he represented Great Britain at the Olympics in Mexico City in five swimming disciplines - 100 m, 200 m butterfly, 200 m, 400 m individual medley, and in the 4×100 m medley relay. He won the silver medal in the 200 m butterfly in a time of 2 minutes 9.0 seconds, behind Carl Robie of the United States. Marion Coakes
Marion Janice Mould (née Coakes, born 6 June 1947) is an English show-jumper. She competed for Great Britain at the 1968 Summer Olympics, winning a silver medal in the individual jumping event. Early life Coakes was born in June 1947. Her father, Ralph, was a farmer in Hampshire. Her elder brothers, John and Douglas, were also on the British junior show jumping team. At the age of three she learned to ride on a donkey. In 1960, her father bought Stroller, an eight-year-old pony, originally imported in a job-lot from Ireland. Stroller was 16 at the end of Marion's junior career, and her father wanted to replace him with a larger horse, but Marion was not willing to let him go and continued showing on the pony. Sheila Sherwood
Sheila Sherwood (born Sheila Hilary Parkin, 22 October 1945 in Parson Cross, Sheffield, West Riding of Yorkshire, England) is a former international long jumper whose career highlights included a silver medal at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico, and a gold medal at the 1970 British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh. She competed in three consecutive Summer Olympic Games (1964, 1968 and 1972) and had a career best distance of 6.73 metres. Lillian Board
Lillian Barbara Board, (13 December 1948 – 26 December 1970) was a British athlete. She won the silver medal in the 400 metres at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City, and two gold medals at the 1969 European Championships in Athletics in Athens. Her career was cut short in 1970 when she developed the colorectal cancer that within months would claim her life. Early life Board was born in Durban on 13 December 1948. Her parents, George and Frances Board, had emigrated from Manchester, England, to South Africa in April 1947, along with their son George Alfred. Rodney Stuart Pattisson, Order of the British Empire, MBE (born 5 August 1943) is a British yachtsman. Bob Braithwaite
John Robert (Bob) Braithwaite MBE (28 September 1925 – 26 February 2015) was a British trap shooter who represented his country at the 1964 Summer Olympics and the 1968 Summer Olympics, winning a gold medal at the latter. Richard John Hannay Meade (4 December 1938 – 8 January 2015) was Britain's most successful male equestrian at the Olympics. He was a triple Olympic gold medalist and the first British rider to win an individual Olympic title. He also won five World Championship medals, including team golds in 1970 and 1982. Jane Mary Elizabeth Holderness-Roddam (née Bullen; born 1 July 1948, Charmouth, Dorset) is a British event rider, winning Badminton Horse Trials in 1968 (on Our Nobby) and 1978 (on Warrior).
