Gravity (Luna Sea Song)
"Gravity" is the twelfth single by Japanese rock band Luna Sea, released on March 29, 2000. It was the band's sixth number one on the Oricon Singles Chart, and stayed on the chart for 12 weeks. In 2000, it was certified Gold by the RIAJ for sales over 200,000. Overview "Gravity" is a ballad-style song with a 16- beat rhythm, originally composed by Inoran. He described it as "even though released in spring, the lyrics actually create a strong expression of autumn." Its music video was directed by Shūichi Tan, who went on to direct the video for Luna Sea's next single, "Tonight". "Inside You" is one of only two Luna Sea song originally written and composed by Shinya. "My Lover" was originally composed by Sugizo. "Gravity" and "My Lover" were first performed during the Start Up Gig 2000, a live performance at Zepp Tokyo. Luna Sea
Luna Sea (stylized as LUNA SEA) is a Japanese rock band formed in Kanagawa Prefecture in 1986. Due to the use of make-up and costumes early in their career and their widespread popularity, they are considered one of the most successful and influential bands in the visual kei movement. Throughout the mid-1990s they used significantly less make-up, and after a one-year break in 1997, came back with a more mainstream alternative rock style and toned down their on-stage attire. They disbanded in 2000. In 2003, HMV Japan ranked Luna Sea at number 90 on their list of the 100 most important Japanese pop acts. Initially founded in 1986, by bassist J and rhythm guitarist Inoran while in high school, the band was originally called Lunacy. Sugizo
, born and better known by his stage name Sugizo, is a Japanese musician, singer-songwriter, composer and record producer. He is best known as the lead guitarist and violinist of the rock band Luna Sea since 1989. Sugizo started his solo career in 1997 and has since collaborated with a variety of different artists. In 2007 he became a member of the international trance/ world music act Juno Reactor, and of the Japanese rock supergroup S.K.I.N., and in 2009 officially joined the rock band X Japan. He was also part of the psychedelic jam band Shag and the shamanic electronica unit S.T.K (Sensual Technology Kooks). Marié Christina Digby ( ; born April 16, 1983) is an American singer, songwriter, guitarist and pianist known for her acoustic cover version of Rihanna's " Umbrella", which was posted on YouTube in 2007 (and has since been viewed over 22 million times). The Zepp music halls are a group of Japanese music venues covering every area of the country. They play host to many international tours and are a popular stop among Japanese musicians. Each venue takes the Zepp name, along with the city in which it is located. The Zepp company is a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment Japan.
