Grace Church On-the-Hill
Grace Church on-the-Hill is a parish of the Anglican Church of Canada in the Diocese of Toronto. The parish church is located at 300 Lonsdale Road, in the Forest Hill area of Toronto, Ontario. Grace Church is featured in the novel ''A Prayer for Owen Meany'' by John Irving, and it is a member of the Churches on the Hill group. History Work on the current building, designed by Eden Smith, began in May 1912. Opening services at the new church took place on 21 December 1913. In 1923, the Parish Hall, with an auditorium and gymnasium below, was completed, as well as the vestries on the north side of the chancel. The original Eden Smith design was completed in 1938, including a chapel on the south side. A two-story addition on the west side was built in 1955 as an Education Centre. Grace Church (Scottsville, New York)
Grace Church is a historic Episcopal church located at Scottsville in Monroe County, New York. The church was designed by noted Rochester architect Harvey Ellis (1852-1904) and built in 1885. It is in the Latin cross form in the Richardsonian Romanesque style. It has a native fieldstone lower level with an upper section of frame construction with a non-structural wall of stained glass. It features rounded apsidal and transept ends topped by conical roofs. Attached is a Sunday school wing constructed in 1956 and a square, shingled bell tower added in 1976. Grace Reformed Episcopal Church is a historic church in Havre de Grace, Maryland. Founded and built in 1910, it is a parish of the Reformed Episcopal Church's Diocese of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic and a contributing property to the Havre de Grace Historic District. History Grace Reformed Episcopal Church was founded in 1910 as the result of a split in St. John's Episcopal Church in Havre de Grace. The church was received into the New York and Philadelphia Synod of the REC in June 1910. The cornerstone was laid that year, and the small church at 560 Fountain Street was completed in time for Christmas Day services on December 25, 1910. The church has been expanded and renovated over its history. Grace Community Church is a non-denominational, evangelical megachurch founded in 1956 and located in Sun Valley, a neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. Grace Church Van Vorst
The Grace Church Van Vorst, is located in Jersey City, Hudson County, New Jersey, United States. The church was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 1, 1979. The church was built in 1853 and was named after the former Van Vorst Township. The church is an English Gothic-style Episcopal church which was designed by Detlef Lienau. The building is constructed with brownstone and has a slate roof. The church was expanded in 1864 with the addition of two bays to the west and a baptistry added midway on the south side of the building. The 57-foot high square tower was added in 1912. The church currently has three services on Sunday at their main facility (referred to as the Houston Campus): two English-speaking and one Spanish-speaking. Grace Church Cathedral, located in Charleston, South Carolina, is the diocesan cathedral of the Episcopal Church in South Carolina. It is also a contributing property in the Charleston Historic District. The parish was founded as the city's fifth Episcopal Church congregation in 1846. The Gothic Revival church was designed by E.B. White and completed in 1848. The church remained open during the American Civil War until it was hit by a shell in January 1864. It reopened the following year. The church was also severely damaged in an earthquake in August 1886, in a hurricane in 1911, and in Hurricane Hugo in 1989. It was selected to be the cathedral at the annual diocesan convention in November 2015; the previous diocesan cathedral, the Cathedral of St. Luke and St. Paul, became affiliated with the Anglican Diocese of South Carolina in 2012. It was built in 1845-46 and was designed by Richard Upjohn in the Gothic Revival style. The church was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972, and is part of the Downtown Providence Historic District. It is a relatively simple expression of Gothic Revival architecture, and is notable as the first building in which Upjohn used asymmetry in a church's massing. The Grace Church Complex, saw its 175th anniversary in 2019, is a historic Episcopal church complex in Massapequa, Nassau County, New York. The complex consists of the church, surrounding parish cemetery, the Floyd-Jones family cemetery, and the DeLancey Floyd-Jones Free Library. The small church was built in 1844 by Elbert Floyd-Jones and remodeled in 1905. It is a frame structure on a brick foundation and consists of a vestibule, nave, and chancel.
