Gostiny Dvor (Kyiv)
Hostynnyi Dvir ( uk, Гостинний двір, russian: Гостиный двор, ''Gostiny dvor'') is a trade complex (hosting court) built in Kyiv, Ukraine (at the time part of the Russian Empire) back in 1813 by Luigi Rusca. The interpretation of name in two languages is different due to semantics of both. Literally in the Russian language the word means a goods court, while in the Ukrainian language - a welcome court. The complex was built as part of many complexes that were built in cities of the Russian Empire. Petro Konashevych-Sahaidachny ( uk, Петро Конашевич-Сагайдачний; pl, Piotr Konaszewicz-Sahajdaczny; born about 1582 in Kulchytsi, today Sambir Raion – 20 April 1622 in Kyiv) was a Ukrainian Cossack political and civic leader, Hetman of Zaporozhian Cossacks from 1616 to 1622, a military leader of Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth both on land and sea. While being a hetman, he transformed the Cossack Host from an irregular military formation into a regular army. Under his leadership, the Cossacks, the Orthodox clergy and peasants of Ukraine began to emerge as a united nation. Lilia Sandulesu (Ukrainian: Лілія Сандулесу; born in 1958) is a Ukrainian pop singer. People's Artist of Ukraine (1996). Biography Lilia Sandulesu was born in village Marshyntsi, Chernivtsi oblast in 1958. In 1977 she won a gold medal at the first all-Union festival of Amateur performance, from the same moment she was a member of the ensemble "Zhiva Voda" in the Chernivtsi Philharmonic. Since 1980 she began to sing in the Volyn Philharmonic in the ensembles "Svityaz" and "Serpanki" together with Alexander Serov, at the same time she became famous. She was invited to government concerts in Kiev and Moscow. In 1984 she was invited to the Kiev music hall. Over time, she changed her last name to the Ukrainian manner (Sandulesa). Ivo Bobul ( uk, Іво Бобул; born 1953, Chernivtsi Oblast) is a Ukrainian singer. Bobul won the People's Artist of Ukraine award in 1998. Biography Bobul started as a restaurant singer, before becoming part of the VIA Chernivtsi Philharmonic in 1980. A year later he moved to ''Live Water'', where he replaced his future wife and companion on the stage Liliа Sandulesu. Pavlo Mikolajovich Zibrov ( uk, Павло Микола́йович Зібров) is a Ukrainian pop singer (baritone), song writer. People's Artist of Ukraine (1996). He became notable for his song ''Khreshchatyk''. Pavlo Zibrov was born on 21 June 1957 in a village of Chervone, Nemyriv Raion, Vinnytsia Oblast in a family of Russian Nikolai Ivanovich and Ukrainian Hanna Kyrilivna. His mother worked as a teacher, and his father was a master of all trades. After a couple of years at school, Pavlo moved with his family to Kyiv.
