Goričan ( hu, Muracsány) is a municipalities of Croatia, municipality in Međimurje County, Croatia. Goričan is the only village belonging to the municipality. Its population in the 2011 census was 2,823. Of the entire population, 2,763 people identified themselves as Croats. Goričan is located in the eastern part of Međimurje County, near the Croatian-Hungary, Hungarian border and the Mur River, Mura. The nearby populated places include the villages of Donji Kraljevec ( hu, Murakirály) and Hodošan ( hu, Hodosány) in Međimurje County, as well as the town of Letenye in Hungary. The border checkpoint between Goričan and Letenye is located around 3 kilometres from the centre of the village. A4 (Croatia)
The A4 motorway ( hr, Autocesta A4) is a motorway in Croatia spanning . It connects the nation's capital, Zagreb, to the city of Varaždin and to Budapest, Hungary via the Goričan border crossing. The motorway represents a major north–south transportation corridor in Croatia and is a part of European routes E65 and E71. The A4 motorway route also follows Pan-European corridor Vb. Apart from Zagreb and Varaždin, the A4 motorway runs near a number of Croatian cities, and connects to the rest of the Croatian motorway network east of Zagreb. The motorway route was completed in 2008. Međimurje County
Međimurje County (; hr, Međimurska županija ; hu, Muraköz megye) is a triangle-shaped Counties of Croatia, county in the northernmost part of Croatia, roughly corresponding to the historical and geographical region of Međimurje (region), Međimurje. Despite being the smallest Croatian county by size, it is the most densely populated one (not including the Zagreb, City of Zagreb). The county seat is Čakovec, which is also the largest city of the county. M7 Motorway (Hungary)
The M7 motorway ( hu, M7-es autópálya) is a Hungarian motorway which runs from Budapest towards the Croatian border at Letenye, reaching Székesfehérvár, then Siófok, a town on Lake Balaton, and the city of Nagykanizsa in the southwest of the country. The motorway connects with the Croatian motorway A4 at Goričan and forms part of the Pan-European corridor Vb, connecting Budapest with Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, and Rijeka, the largest Croatian seaport. Since the completion of the M7 it is possible to travel on motorway from Budapest to the Adriatic Sea, a popular tourist destination for Hungarians. Hodošan ( hu, Hodosány) is a village in Međimurje County, Croatia. The village is part of the Donji Kraljevec municipality. It is located around 18 kilometres from the centre of Čakovec, the county seat of Međimurje County, with the nearby villages including Donji Hrašćan and Goričan. The town of Prelog is located just over 6 kilometres from the village. The population of Hodošan in the 2011 census was 1,254. The D3 state road goes through the village. Donji Kraljevec ( hu, Murakirály) is a village and municipality in Međimurje County, Croatia. Geography and demographics In the 2011 census, the municipality had a population of 4,659. Of the entire population, a total of 4,578 people (98.3%) identified themselves as Croats. The village of Donji Kraljevec is located around 20 kilometres south-east of Čakovec, the county seat and largest city of Međimurje County, and just over 4 kilometres north-east of Prelog, the second largest city of the county. In the 2001 census, the village had a population of 1,694 and was also the largest village in the municipality.
