Gordon Cheung
Gordon Cheung (born 1975) is a contemporary artist who currently lives and works in London. Early life Gordon Cheung was born and raised in London, UK to parents from Hong Kong. Cheung received his Bachelor of Arts (Hons) at Central Saint Martins and Master of Fine Arts at the Royal College of Art, where he graduated in 2001. Whilst a student, he instigated and was the organizer of 'Assembly' – exhibiting 172 MA art graduates in 2 disused Victorian school buildings. Exhibitions He exhibits internationally and was in the one of the largest surveys for recent developments of art from the UK. He was commissioned for a Laing Art Solo Award in July 2007. British Hong Kong
Hong Kong was a colony and later a dependent territory of the British Empire from 1841 to 1997, apart from a period of occupation under the Japanese Empire from 1941 to 1945 during the Pacific War. The New Art Gallery Walsall
The New Art Gallery Walsall is a modern and contemporary art gallery sited in the centre of the West Midlands town of Walsall, England. It was built with £21 million of public funding, including £15.75 million from the UK National Lottery and additional money from the European Regional Development Fund and City Challenge. The Gallery is funded by Walsall Council and Arts Council England; this funding is further supplemented by its own income generation. Admission is free. Its first Director was Peter Jenkinson.
