Gong Gucheng
Gong Gucheng (; born December 1940) is a lieutenant general in the People's Liberation Army of China. He was an alternate member of the 14th and 15th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party. He was a representative of the 16th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party. He was a member of the Standing Committee of the 10th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. Throughout his military career, he participated in the Vietnam War, the Battle of the Paracel Islands, and the Sino-Vietnamese War. Biography Gong was born in the town of Baixi, Xinhua County, Hunan, in December 1940, to Gong Guoguang (), a primary school teacher, and Chen Yueying (), a small merchant. 16th National Congress Of The Chinese Communist Party
The 16th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party was held in Beijing between November 8 and 14, 2002. It was preceded by the 15th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party. 2,114 delegates and 40 specially invited delegates attended this and elected a 356-member 16th CCP Central Committee, as well as a 121-member Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI). The Congress marked the nominal transition of power between Jiang Zemin and Hu Jintao, who replaced Jiang as General Secretary, and a newly expanded Politburo Standing Committee line-up. The institutional transition would be completed in state organs by the 2003 National People's Congress in March. (; ja, 将, Shō; ) is the rank held by general officers in some East Asian militaries. The ranks are used in both the People's Republic of China and the Republic of China on Taiwan. The People's Liberation Army and the People's Armed Police use three levels at present while the Republic of China Armed Forces use four. In both North and South Korea the rank is also used. Major general (abbreviated MG, maj. gen. and similar) is a military rank used in many countries. It is derived from the older rank of sergeant major general. Zhu Rongji
Zhu Rongji (; IPA: ; born 23 October 1928) is a retired Chinese politician who served as Premier of the People's Republic of China from 1998 to 2003 and CCP Politburo Standing Committee member from 1992 to 2002 along with the Chinese Communist Party's general secretary Jiang Zemin.
