Andrew Kenneth Golding (born 5 October 1963) is a former English cricketer. Golding was a right-handed batsman who bowled slow left-arm orthodox. He was born in Colchester, Essex. Golding made his only first-class appearance for Essex against the touring New Zealanders in 1983. In this match, he took the head of Ian Smith in the New Zealander's first-innings, for the cost of 44 runs from 14 overs. Attending St Augustine's Church of England High School in Kilburn, he enjoyed playing all sports before taking up athletics seriously in 1991. Biography He was educated at Chester City Grammar School, Keele University and the London School of Economics. After some time working in the Civil Service he took up a research job with the Post Office Engineering Union. Golding was elected Member of Parliament (MP) for Newcastle-under-Lyme at a by-election in 1969.
