The Golden Bell Awards () is an annual Taiwanese television and radio production award presented in October or November each year by the Bureau of Audiovisual and Music Industry Development, a division of Taiwan's Ministry of Culture. Doze Niu (, also known as Niu Chen-zer; born June 22, 1966) is a Taiwanese actor, film director, show host, screenwriter, and producer. As a film director, he is best known for the Taiwanese film '' Monga''. Early life Niu was born in Taipei, Taiwan on June 22, 1966. He grew up in the military dependents' village in Gongguan, Taipei. His father's family is from the Manchu Niohuru clan and his mother's family has military background. His grandfather was a general, so he would often accompany him to visit Chiang Kai-shek. When he was 12, his father was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and became bed-ridden for 25 years until his death. His love for Hong Kong cinema may have influenced his later works. Justice Bao (1993 TV Series)
''Justice Pao'' is a 236-episode television series from Taiwan, first airing on Chinese Television System (CTS) from February 1993 to January 1994. Background The show stars Jin Chao-chun as the legendary Song dynasty official Bao Zheng. It was hugely popular in many countries in East Asia and Southeast Asia. The series was originally planned to have just 15 episodes. However, the show had high ratings when the initial episodes aired. Due to its popularity, CTS extended the show to 236 episodes. The rival TVB and ATV Home networks in Hong Kong both bought the series in an attempt to gain viewers. Competition between the two networks during the series’ run was so intense that identical episodes were shown on both channels on the same night. Lau has starred in many television drama series of various genres, produced by Hong Kong's TVB and ATV. Ko Hsiang-ting
Ko Hsiang-ting (; 8 August 1916 – 16 May 2010) was a Taiwanese actor. Born in Suzhou, China on 8 August 1916, Ko became a member of the National Revolutionary Army corp of entertainers. He moved to Taiwan after the Chinese Civil War, and started an acting career that spanned over one hundred credits. He was awarded the Golden Horse Award for Best Actor in 1965 and again in 1970. Eight years later, Ko founded the Actor’s Union of the Republic of China. In 2005, he was honored with the Golden Horse Award Lifetime Achievement Award. He died in Taipei on 16 May 2010, aged 93.
