Hubert Moest
Hubert Moest (December 3, 1877 to December 5, 1953) was a German film director, writer, producer, and actor. Early life and career Moest was the son of the sculptor Richard Moest. He attended high school in Cologne, an art school and worked as a painter. In 1895, he began performing as an actor and opera singer on stages in Bad Godesberg, Hagen and other cities of West Germany. He came to Berlin in 1912 and was part of the theater at Nollendorfplatz. In the same year he was also active as a theater director. In 1913 he married actress Hedda Vernon. He began acting in 1914 and was part of many comedy films. His first film as a director was '' Selbstgerichtet oder Die Gelbe Fratze'' in which his wife Hedda Vernon was the lead actress. He served in the army during World War I. Eduard Clemens Franz Anna Freiherr von Wangenheim (1 August 1871 – 22 July 1961), known as Eduard von Winterstein, was an Austrian-German film actor who appeared in over one hundred fifty German films during the silent and sound eras. Biography Von Winterstein was born in Vienna on 1 August 1871 to landowner Hugo von Wangenheim and his second wife, Hungarian-born actress Aloysia "Luise" von Wangenheim-Dub. Fritz Heinrich Rasp (13 May 1891 – 30 November 1976) was a German film actor who appeared in more than 100 films between 1916 and 1976. His obituary in '' Der Spiegel'' described Rasp as "the German film villain in service, for over 60 years." Life and career Fritz Heinrich Rasp was the thirteenth child of a county surveyor. Maria Forescu (15 January 1875 28 October 1947) was an Austro-Hungarian-born Romanian opera singer and film actress. During the silent and talkies era of the German cinema, she appeared in several movies as a supporting actress. When Adolf Hitler came to power, Forescu, like other Jews of that period, was barred from her profession. Living undercover during the later years of World War II, she survived the Holocaust and died in 1947 in East Berlin. Fritz Kampers (14 July 1891 – 1 September 1950) was a German film actor. He appeared in more than 250 films between 1913 and 1950. Early life Fritz Kampers was the son of a Munich hotel owner, spent his early childhood in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and attended a boarding school in Weilheim in Upper Bavaria. After completing secondary school, he completed a commercial apprenticeship in a textile shop in Munich and at the same time took acting classes with Richard Stury, who presided as president of the Munich experimental stage. Lothar Müthel (né Lothar Max Lütcke; 18 February 1896 – 4 September 1964) was a German stage and film actor and director. Career Müthel was born in Berlin, where he attended the acting school of Max Reinhardt, ''Schauspielschule, Berlin''. Following the Anchluss of Austria to Nazi Germany, Müthel was appointed as director of the Burgtheater in Vienna. He held that position from 1939 until the fall of the Nazi regime in 1945. Under his directorship in 1943, a notoriously extreme production of ''The Merchant of Venice'' was staged at the Burgtheater, with Werner Krauss as Shylock.
