Jean-Baptiste Godart (25 November 1775 – 27 July 1825) was a French entomologist. Born at Origny, Godart became impassioned by butterflies in his youth. He was charged by Pierre André Latreille (1762-1833) with writing the article on these insects in the ''Encyclopédie Méthodique The ''Encyclopédie méthodique par ordre des matières'' ("Methodical Encyclopedia by Order of Subject Matter") was published between 1782 and 1832 by the French publisher Charles Joseph Panckoucke, his son-in-law Henri Agasse, and the latter's ...''. Godart then undertook his ''Histoire naturelle des lépidoptères ou papillons de France'' publication starting in 1821 and not completed until 1842. Louis Godart
Louis Godart (born 12 August 1945) is an Italian archaeologist of Belgian origins. He is a specialist in Mycenaean archaeology and philology and holds the chair of philology at the University of Naples Federico II. He is also currently Director for the Conservation of Artistic Heritage of the Italian President. Studies Godart was born in Gedinne, Bourseigne-Vieille. After attending middle and high school at the Collège de Bellevue in Dinant in Belgium until 1963, he graduated in classical philology in 1967 at the Catholic University of Leuven (1834–1968), University of Louvain. In 1971 he got a Doctor of Philosophy, PhD in literature and philosophy at the Université libre de Bruxelles, Free University of Brussels and, in 1977, another doctorate in arts and humanities at the University of Paris (post-1970), Sorbonne in Paris. Pascal Godart (dates unknown) is a French classical pianist. Biography Godart learned to play the piano at age five with Renée Entremont, pianist Philippe Entremont's mother, then with Yvonne Loriod and won a first prize for piano, chamber music and accompaniment at the Conservatoire de Paris. He also worked the piano with Pierre Réach and Vadim Sakharov. He won international piano competitions in Milan (Dino Ciani Competition, 1993, 2nd prize), Cleveland (Robert Casadesus Competition (1989), 4th prize), Tokyo (1992) and Porto (1990) and won the Grand Prix Maria Callas in Athens in 1996. Frédéric Godart is a French sociologist and researcher who is an Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior at INSEAD in Fontainebleau (France). His work is on the dynamics of creative industries, and fashion and luxury. Godart's 2012 book is called ''Unveiling Fashion: Business, Culture, and Identity in the Most Glamorous Industry''.
