Go-Get-'Em, Haines
''Go-Get-'Em, Haines'' is a 1936 American mystery film directed by Sam Newfield. It was William Boyd (actor), William Boyd's last non-Hopalong Cassidy role. Plot Ace reporter Steve Haines is on the trail of Edward Baldwin, the former head of a public utilities company that has bankrupted and defrauded its investors out of their life savings. Haines trails Baldwin to an ocean liner where he is planning to flee to Europe. During the voyage Haines is impressed by the company on the ship, including a famous actor and his singing daughter and a gangster. Haines organises a pantomime melodrama to entertain the passengers using his new acquaintances and convinces Baldwin to take a role playing a man who is murdered. Prior to going on the stage the fake revolver is replaced with a real one. Sam Newfield
Sam Newfield, born Samuel Neufeld, (December 6, 1899 - November 10, 1964), also known as Sherman Scott or Peter Stewart, was an American B-movie Film director, director, one of the most prolific in American film history—he is credited with directing over 250 feature films in a career which began during the silent era and ended in 1958. In addition to his staggering feature output, he also directed one -and two-reel comedy Short film, shorts, training films, industrial films, TV episodes and pretty much anything anyone would pay him for. Because of this massive output—he would sometimes direct more than 20 films in a single year—he has been called the most prolific director of the sound era. Many of Newfield's films were made for Producers Releasing Corporation, PRC Pictures. This was a film production company headed by his brother Sigmund Neufeld. Clarence Geldart (June 9, 1867 – May 13, 1935) was an American film actor. He appeared in 127 films between 1915 and 1936. He was sometimes credited as C.H. Geldart or Charles H. Geldart. Sam Perry (composer)
Samuel Frederick Perry (29 June 1877 – 19 October 1954), was a Labour and Co-operative politician in the United Kingdom. He was the father of the British tennis and table tennis champion Fred Perry. Born in Stockport, Cheshire, Sam Perry began his education with a scholarship at the Stockport Grammar School but was forced to give up school at the age of ten when his father died, becoming a cotton mill, cotton spinner like his father. He became involved in the local British co-operative movement, co-operative movement with the Stockport Co-operative Society then Birkenhead and on the creation of the Co-operative Party in 1917 was appointed its first national secretary. Appointment as the senior official in the Party brought Perry to London with nine-year-old Fred.
