Its seat is the town of Kolonowskie (Colonnowska), which lies approximately north-east of Strzelce Opolskie and east of the regional capital Opole. The gmina covers an area of , and as of 2019 its total population is 5,895. Since 2006, the township, like much of the area, has been officially bilingual in German and Polish. Bělotín (german: Bölten) is a municipality and village in Přerov District in the Olomouc Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 1,800 inhabitants.
