The gmina (Polish: , plural ''gminy'' , from German ''Gemeinde'' meaning ''commune'') is the principal unit of the administrative division of Poland, similar to a municipality. , there were 2,477 gminas throughout the country, encompassing over 43,000 villages. 940 gminas include cities and towns, with 302 among them constituting an independent urban gmina ( pl, gmina miejska) consisting solely of a standalone town or one of the 107 cities, the latter governed by a city mayor (''prezydent miasta''). Zaborze, Cieszyn County
Zaborze is a village in Gmina Chybie, Cieszyn County, Silesian Voivodeship, southern Poland. It lies in the historical region of Cieszyn Silesia. Etymology The name is of topographic origin and literally means '' placebehind a bór'' (''bór'' is a Polish name for temperate coniferous forest). In the 17th century it was known as ''Podpierściec'' (see a nearby village of Pierściec). History The area became part of the emering Polish state in the 10th century, and after its fragmentation into smaller duchies it formed part of the duchies of Silesia, Opole and Racibórz and Cieszyn, remaining under the rule of the Piast dynasty. It was first mentioned in a written document in 1574. Originally called ''Podpierściec'' as it lay close to Pierściec. Těrlicko
Těrlicko (; pl, , german: Tierlitzko) is a municipality in Karviná District in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 4,800 inhabitants. Bogumił Kobiela (31 May 1931 – 10 July 1969) was a Polish stage and film actor. He was an actor of , Ateneum Theatre in Warsaw, Komedia Theatre in Warsaw, Bim-Bom student theatre, Kabaret Wagabunda and Kabaret Dudek. He suffered serious injuries in a car crash on 2 July 1969 in Buszkowo. He died eight days later in hospital in Gdańsk.
