Glory Of Sport Award
The Gloire du sport (French language, French: Glory of Sport) is an award that is given to former athletes, sports leaders, sports coaches and sports journalists, who have greatly contributed to sports in the country of France. The award is given by the :fr:Fédération_des_internationaux_du_sport_français, Fédération des internationaux du sport français (Federation of French International Sports). The award was first given in 1993. Selection criteria The award aims to reward individuals who have had an exemplary career in their fields. The first induction of Glories of Sport were awarded on March 12, 1993. Since then, new honorees are awarded each year. In order to be eligible for the award, if a nominee is still living, then a period of 10 years of time since the end of their career must have passed. French Language

Simone De La Chaume
Simone Thion de la Chaume (24 November 1908 – 4 September 2001) was a French amateur golfer. In 1924, she became the first foreign player to win the Girls Amateur Championship and in 1927 the first to win the British Ladies Amateur, then the most prestigious tournament in British and European ladies' golf and an event her daughter, Catherine Lacoste, would also win 42 years later. At the 1927 U.S. Women's Amateur, she lost in the third round to former three-time champion, Alexa Stirling. While attending a Davis Cup match, Simone de la Chaume met the French tennis star René Lacoste. They married in 1929 and had three sons and a daughter. The Lacostes would go on to form the Lacoste company and build a sportswear empire. They also founded the Golf de Chantaco club in Saint-Jean-de-Luz in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques département of France near Biarritz. Simone Lacoste died in Saint-Jean-de-Luz in 2001. Pierre Jonquères D'Oriola
Pierre Jonquères d'Oriola (1 February 1920 – 19 July 2011) was a French equestrian who competed in show jumping. He is the only person to win two individual Olympic gold medals in this discipline. Biography D'Oriola's first gold medal was won at the 1952 Olympic Games in Helsinki, on the French gelding ''Ali Baba'', and his second gold at the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo, riding the French gelding ''Lutteur B''. Also in Tokyo, with Janous Lefevre and Guy Lefrant, again riding ''Lutteur B'', he earned a team silver medal in jumping. In Mexico City, 1968, on ''Nagir'', with teammates Lefevre and Jean Marcel Rozier, he acquired another silver in team jumping. At the 1953 Show Jumping World Championships, in Paris, d'Oriola (on Ali Baba) took a bronze medal in the individual competition. Myriam Fox-Jerusalmi
Myriam Fox-Jerusalmi (born 24 October 1961 in Marseille) is a French slalom canoeist who competed at the international level from 1979 to 1996. Career Competing in two Summer Olympics, she won a bronze medal in the K1 event in Atlanta in 1996. Fox-Jerusalmi also won ten medals at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships with eight golds (K1: 1989, 1993; K1 team: 1983, 1985, 1989, 1991, 1993, 1995) and two silvers (K1: 1987; K1 team: 1987). She won the overall World Cup title three consecutive times between 1989 and 1991. In 2018, she won the Coach of the Year at the AIS Sport Performance Awards. Roland Garros (aviator)
Eugène Adrien Roland Georges Garros (; 6 October 1888 – 5 October 1918) was a French aviation pioneer and fighter pilot. Garros began a career in aviation in 1909 and performed many early feats before joining the French army and becoming one of the earliest fighter pilots during World War I. In 1928, the Roland Garros tennis stadium was named in his memory; the French Open tennis tournament takes the name of Roland Garros as well as the stadium in which it is held. Boughera El Ouafi
Ahmed Boughèra El Ouafi ( ar, أحمد بوقرة الوافي; 15 October 1898 – 18 October 1959) was an Algerian athlete during the time of the French occupation of Algeria. In 1928, he won the Olympic gold medal in the marathon. Biography El Ouafi was born in the town of Ouled Djellal, joining the French military regiment later (at that time, Algeria was part of French Algeria). One of his superior officers noticed El Ouafi's outstanding athletic abilities, and decided to send him to a military sports competition in France. He made a good impression there, and was allowed to enter qualification for the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris in the marathon event.
