Gloria Beatriz Godoy Montórfano de Rubín (born 1943) is a Paraguayuan broadcasting executive, psychologist, feminist, and politician. From 2008 to 2013 she was Paraguay's Minister for Women's Affairs. Life Gloria Godoy was born on 26 March 1943 in Asunción. She is the niece of Adán Godoy Jiménez, Minister of Health under Paraguay's dictator Alfredo Stroessner. She is married to the broadcaster and celebrity Humberto Rubín, owner of Radio Ñandutí, and they have four children. She herself worked for Radio Ñandutí. In 2008 Gloria Godoy de Rubín was appointed minister for women in the government of Fernando Lugo. She objected to an invitation to Luga's inauguration being extended to Nicaraguan president Daniel Ortega, who was accused of raping his stepdaughter Zoilamérica Narváez. Ana María Baiardi Quesnel (born Asunción, Paraguay; 17 July 1965) is a Paraguayan diplomat and politician. From 2018 to 2022, she served as the ambassador of Paraguay in Peru. Biography Baiardi studied Systems Analysis at the Universidad Católica Nuestra Señora de la Asunción; afterwards she specialized in Social Science at the Long Island University, New York, and she obtained a Master in International Integration from the University of Perugia, Italy. From 2008 to 15 August 2013 she was Paraguayan ambassador to Italy, Israel, Greece and Slovenia. José Daniel Ortega Saavedra (; born 11 November 1945) is a Nicaraguans, Nicaraguan revolutionary and politician serving as President of Nicaragua since 2007. Horacio Manuel Cartes Jara (born 5 July 1956) is a Paraguayan businessman and politician who served as the president of Paraguay from 2013 to 2018. He is a member of the Colorado Party. Cartes owns about two dozen businesses in his Grupo Cartes conglomerate including tobacco, soft drinks, meat production, and banking. He was president of Club Libertad football club from 2001 until 2012, and had been the president of the national team department of the Paraguayan Football Association during the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualification. Luis Federico Franco Gómez (born 24 July 1962) is a Paraguayan politician who was President of Paraguay from June 2012 until August 2013. A member of the Authentic Radical Liberal Party (PLRA), he was elected as Vice President of Paraguay in the 2008 presidential election as the running mate of Fernando Lugo; he took office in August 2008. Following Lugo's impeachment by the Senate on 22 June 2012, he succeeded Lugo as President to complete the presidential mandate until 15 August 2013. Franco is a surgeon by profession. Fernando Lugo, elected President of Paraguay in 2008, was impeached and removed from office by the Congress of Paraguay in June 2012. On 21 June the Chamber of Deputies voted 76 to 1 to impeach Lugo, and the Senate removed him from office the following day, by 39 votes to 4, resulting in Vice President Federico Franco, who had broken with Lugo, becoming President. Lugo contends he was denied due process because he did not have enough time to prepare a defense. A number of Latin American governments declared the proceeding was effectively a ''coup d'état''. Fernando Armindo Lugo Méndez (; born 30 May 1951) is a Paraguayan politician and laicized Catholic bishop who was President of Paraguay from 2008 to 2012. Previously he was a Roman Catholic priest and bishop, serving as Bishop of the Diocese of San Pedro from 1994 to 2005. The Ministry of Women or Ministry of Women's Affairs (MWA) is a Paraguayan state ministry established in 2012. The current Minister of Women is Celina Esther Lezcano, who succeeded Nilda Romero in March 2021.
