Global Warning (Jon Oliva's Pain Album)
''Global Warning'' is a 2008 release by Jon Oliva's Pain. It is the band's third studio release. The record reached number 11 in the German MRC Rock Radio Charts during March 2008. On February 7, 2008, the initial track list of the album was posted at the band's forums. On February 8, five song samples from said track list were posted on the band's MySpace page. In support of the album, the band announced a tour of the United States and Europe, with support on the European dates coming from Manticora and Masterstroke. The US tour was scheduled with support from Circle II Circle and Manticora. The tour with both JOP and CIIC would mean that Jon Oliva and Zachary Stevens were on the same bill for the first time since Savatage's 1999 tour. Circle II Circle
Circle II Circle is an American heavy metal band from Tampa, Florida. The band was formed by former Savatage lead vocalist Zachary Stevens and longtime friend and band manager Dan Campbell in 2001. They play varied genres of metal including traditional heavy metal, power metal and progressive metal. History For a period of eight years from 1992 until August 2000, Zachary Stevens was the lead singer of Savatage. After five albums with the group, he left in 2000 citing family reasons. Criss Oliva
Christopher Michael Oliva (April 3, 1963 – October 17, 1993) was an American musician who was the lead guitarist and co-founder of the heavy metal band Savatage. During his lifetime, he released seven studio albums and one EP with the band. Biography Early life Oliva's family moved around the country during his childhood, stopping off in California before making Florida their home. It was in California that Oliva found music and considered it his calling, and he continued his musical interests when he moved to Florida. His main influences as a guitarist were Ritchie Blackmore, Tony Iommi, Uli Jon Roth and Michael Schenker. He spent countless hours figuring out his favorite songs on records, and when he found it difficult to figure out a part on the record he just made up his own licks. The Dungeons Are Calling
''The Dungeons Are Calling'' is an EP by the American heavy metal band Savatage, released in 1984 on Combat Records. Though the EP was not released until 1984, most of the songs featured on it and the debut album, ''Sirens'', had been in the band set list since 1979, and are part of the ''Live in Clearwater'' and ''City Beneath the Surface'' EPs. ''The Dungeons Are Calling'' is a loosely based concept album and the title track, contrary to popular belief, is not about Hell or torture, but about the horrors of drug use. The song used many metaphors, which have been sometimes misunderstood. The tracks on this EP were recorded the same day as the tracks for the ''Sirens'' album. The two were meant to be a full-length debut but were divided due to limited space for songs on vinyl. Ralph Santolla
Ralph Santolla (December 8, 1966 – June 7, 2018) was an Italian-American heavy metal guitarist. He played in many bands, most recently Deicide, but also including Eyewitness, Death (he never recorded any of their albums, but toured with them in 1993 and appeared in "The Philosopher" video), Millenium, Iced Earth, and the Sebastian Bach band. In 2007, he replaced Allen West in Obituary for their album Xecutioner's Return. Santolla was very proud of his Italian heritage and he played guitars by Jackson and Ibanez with the Italian flag painted on them. He most recently played Jackson Guitars, though he had also been associated with ESP Guitars, Dean Guitars and many others. He also used Randall Amplifiers. He was well known for his shred guitar playing style. Savatage () was an American heavy metal band founded by brothers Jon and Criss Oliva in 1979 in Tarpon Springs, Florida. Zachary Trussell (born March 5, 1966), known professionally as Zachary "Zak" Stevens, is an American singer, best known as the second lead vocalist of the heavy metal band Savatage. He currently performs with the heavy metal band Circle II Circle. Stevens also has a degree in psychology but is not, as is often reported, a licensed, practicing psychologist. Manticora is a Danish heavy metal band from Hvidovre formed in 1996 by Lars and Kristian Larsen. Their current label is Nightmare Records. Their lyrical content typically consists of literature, fantasy, and science fiction. Jon Oliva's Pain
Jon Oliva's Pain (sometimes referred to as JOP) was the latest project of Savatage co-founder Jon Oliva. Band history Originally, the project consisted entirely of solo recordings by Oliva, but after several months of work he was joined by former members of Circle II Circle to form a band. The band's first performance was at the Criss Oliva Memorial Concert in 2003, where Oliva played a set of 6 songs from his solo catalog plus "In the Dream" from ''Power of the Night'', "Hey Bulldog" by The Beatles and a cover of "Wishing Well" by the band Free (band), Free (which was covered by Savatage on their album ''Fight for the Rock'').
