"Liberate the South" ( vi, Giải phóng miền Nam, ) was the national anthem of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam from 1969 to 1976. The anthem was composed by the famous trio Lưu Hữu Phước, Mai Văn Bộ and Huỳnh Văn Tiểng under the common pseudonym ''Huỳnh Minh Siêng''. 1954 Geneva Conference
The Geneva Conference, intended to settle outstanding issues resulting from the Korean War and the First Indochina War, was a conference involving several nations that took place in Geneva, Switzerland, from 26 April to 20 July 1954. The part of the conference on the Korean question ended without adopting any declarations or proposals, so is generally considered less relevant. North Vietnam, officially the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (DRV; vi, Việt Nam Dân chủ Cộng hòa), was a socialist state supported by the Soviet Union (USSR) and the People's Republic of China (PRC) in Southeast Asia that existed from 1945 to 1976 and was recognized in 1954. Both the North Vietnamese and South Vietnamese states ceased to exist when they unified as the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
