Giuseppe Laigueglia
Giuseppe Laigueglia (7 September 1922 – 6 June 2001) was an Italian prelate of the Catholic Church who worked in the diplomatic service of the Holy See in 1950 and the Roman Curia. Biography Giuseppe Laigueglia was born on 7 September 1922 in Badalucco, Italy. He was ordained a priest of the Diocese of Ventimiglia on 16 June 1946. To prepare for a diplomatic career he entered the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy in 1954. On 3 August 1973, Pope Paul VI named him titular archbishop of Aeliae and Apostolic Nuncio to Bolivia. The Holy See ( lat, Sancta Sedes, ; it, Santa Sede ), also called the See of Rome, Petrine See or Apostolic See, is the jurisdiction of the Pope in his role as the bishop of Rome. Antonio Samorè
Antonio Samorè (4 December 1905 – 3 February 1983) was an Italian Cardinal of the Catholic Church. He was elevated to the cardinalate in 1967. Biography Samorè was born in Bardi, near Parma. After studying at the seminary in Piacenza and the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome, he was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Ersilio Menzani on 10 June 1928. Samorè then did pastoral work in Piacenza until 1932, when he became attaché and secretary of the Lithuanian nunciature. He was raised to the rank of Privy Chamberlain of His Holiness on 28 February 1935, and later a Domestic Prelate of His Holiness on 27 February 1947. In 1938, Samorè was named secretary of the nunciature to Switzerland and also entered the Roman Curia as an official of the Secretariat of State. Aeliae or Æliæ was a Roman-era city in the province of Byzacena. The town must have been of some importance as it was made a bishopric early after the Council of Nicaea and it was a Catholic diocese throughout antiquity.
