Girona Railway Station
Girona (Catalan: ''Estació de Girona'') is a railway station serving the city of Girona in Catalonia, Spain. It is located in the northern part of the municipality, lying at approximately southwest of the city's historical centre. The station is on the Barcelona–Cerbère conventional rail line and the Perpignan–Barcelona high-speed rail line. It is served by Rodalies de Catalunya regional line and Girona commuter rail service line , as well as by several national and international AVE and TGV high-speed services operated by Renfe Operadora and SNCF. Girona also has a freight station, located about south of the passenger station. Girona (officially and in Catalan language, Catalan , Spanish: ''Gerona'' ) is a city in northern Catalonia, Spain, at the confluence of the Ter River, Ter, Onyar, Galligants, and Güell rivers. Rodalies de Catalunya (, ; "Commuter Rail of Catalonia") is the main commuter and regional rail system in the Spanish autonomous community of Catalonia. It is administered by the Government of Catalonia and operated by the national rail operator Renfe Operadora. Olot–Girona Railway
The Olot to Girona Railway was a gauge railway line that operated over of track between Olot and Girona, in the province of Girona, Catalonia, Spain. The line crosses the Zona Volcànica de la Garrotxa Natural Park and follows the valleys of the Fluvià, and Ter rivers. It opened in stages from 1895 to 1911, and closed in 1969. The first section of the line, which connected Salt, in the western suburbs of Girona, to Amer opened in 1895. In 1898, the short section from Girona's main line railway station to Salt opened. In 1900, the section from Amer to les Planes d'Hostoles opened. In 1902, the line was extended to Sant Feliu de Pallerols. In 1911, the final extension to Olot opened. The line suffered financial and physical losses during the Spanish Civil War. The Perpignan–Barcelona high-speed line is an international high-speed rail line between France and Spain. The line consists of a railway, of which 24.6 km are in France and 150.8 km are in Spain.
