Gilmore College is an Independent Public Schools, independent Public school (government funded), public Mixed-sex education, co-educational Secondary school, high day school, located in Orelia, Western Australia, Orelia, an outer south-western suburb of in Western Australia, Sited approximately from the City of Perth, Perth CBD, the school is located on Dargin Place. Gilmore (1824 Ship)
''Gilmore'' (or ''Gillmore''), was a merchant ship built at Sulkea, opposite Calcutta, British India, in 1824. In 1829-30 she made a voyage delivering settlers to the Swan River Colony in Western Australia. She then made two voyages transporting convicts from England to Tasmania. Construction Gilmore & Co., shipbuilders in Calcutta, launched ''Gilmore'' in 1824 at a cost of 82,000 sicca rupees. She was a full-rigged ship sheathed with copper. Gilmore & Co. her the next year for a free trader. In 1829 Thomas Peel, her owner, had ''Gilmore'' lengthened especially for the Australian passenger trade. In 1841 she was doubled and re-sheathed and in 1843 and 1848 had large repairs done to her. Hedland Senior High School
Hedland Senior High School is a comprehensive public co-educational high day school, located in South Hedland, Western Australia. Overview The school was established in 1964 as a junior high school but became a high school in 1970 and a senior high school in 1971. By 2012 the school had an enrolment of 603 students between Year 8 and Year 12, 35% of whom were Indigenous Australians. Mining company BHP donated 120 laptop computers and eight scholarships to the high school in 2005 as part of the company's $3 million commitment to educational opportunities in the Pilbara region. A settler is a person who has human migration, migrated to an area and established a permanent residence there, often to colonize the area. A settler who migrates to an area previously uninhabited or sparsely inhabited may be described as a pioneer. Gilmore Avenue
Gilmore Avenue is a main road and suburban distributor in Kwinana south of Perth, and runs through or alongside the suburbs of Medina, Orelia, Calista and Leda, linking them to the Kwinana Freeway via Thomas Road and also to Kwinana Hub Shopping Centre. In 1999 it was extended to Mandurah Road through the Leda Nature Reserve. It continues as Dixon Road into Rockingham. The northern section services the town of Centre of Kwinana. A $4 million project to upgrade the road to a dual carriageway, between Runnymede Gate and Mandurah Road, began in September 2014. Completion is expected in March 2015. City Of Kwinana
The City of Kwinana is a local government area of Western Australia. It covers an area of approximately 118 square kilometres in metropolitan Perth, and lies about 38 km south of Perth central business district, via the Kwinana Freeway. Kwinana maintains 287 km of roads and had a population of almost 39,000 as at the 2016 Census. History Kwinana is a Kimberley Aboriginal word meaning either "young woman" or "pretty maiden". The ship was wrecked on Cockburn Sound in 1922 and blown onto Kwinana Beach. The nearby area acquired the name and it was officially adopted for a township in 1937. Alan Carpenter
Alan John Carpenter (born 4 January 1957) is a former Australian politician who served as the 28th Premier of Western Australia, from 2006 to 2008. From Albany, Carpenter graduated from the University of Western Australia, and worked as a journalist before entering politics.
