Gilberto Rincón Gallardo
Gilberto Rincón Gallardo y Meltis (15 May 1939 – 30 August 2008) was a Mexican politician, activist and former presidential candidate. Biography Rincón Gallardo was born in Mexico City into an upper-class family descendant of the Marquess of Guadalupe and Count of Regla, and composed of Gilberto Rincón Gallardo Gallardo and Blanca Meltis González. At age 19 he became involved in politics when he joined the 1958 presidential campaign of Luis H. Álvarez, a prominent figure of the conservative National Action Party. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in law from the National Autonomous University of Mexico and following his participation in several railroad workers' protests, he shifted politically to the left, where he participated in several political parties (some of which he represented at the Chamber of Deputies). Jorge Carpizo McGregor
Jorge Carpizo McGregor (2 April 1944 – 30 March 2012) was a Mexican jurist who occupied various high rank positions in the government of Mexico. Carpizo was the son of Óscar Carpizo Berrón and Luz María McGregor Dondé. He received a bachelor's degree in law from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), a master's degree in law from the London School of Economics and a doctorate in law from the UNAM. From January 1985 to January 1989, Carpizo McGregor served as Rector of the National Autonomous University of Mexico. In the late 1980s he served as Minister Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation. In June 1990 he was appointed president of the National Human Rights Commission (the first ombudsman in Mexico). In 1993 President Carlos Salinas de Gortari designated him Attorney General, and he later became Secretary of the Interior. Fondo de Cultura Económica (FCE or simply "Fondo") is a Spanish language, non-profit publishing group, partly funded by the Mexican government. It is based in Mexico but it has subsidiaries throughout the Spanish-speaking world. It was founded in 1934 by Daniel Cosío Villegas with the original purpose of providing students of economics from the Escuela Nacional de Economía with specialized books in Spanish. Soon, it expanded its interests to other subjects: humanities, literature (mostly works written in Spanish), popular science, children's books and literature for young adults. Felipe Calderón
Felipe de Jesús Calderón Hinojosa (; born 18 August 1962) is a Mexican politician who served as the 63rd president of Mexico from 1 December 2006 to 30 November 2012 and Secretary of Energy during the presidency of Vicente Fox between 2003 and 2004. He was a member of the National Action Party (''Partido Acción Nacional'', PAN) for 30 years before quitting the party in November 2018. His father, Luis Calderón Vega, was one of the founders of the PAN and one of its most prominent members; Felipe joined the party in the 1980s. Prior to his presidency, he received two master's degrees and worked within the PAN when it was an opposition party during the PRI regime.
