Ghar Ka Chiraag (1967 Film)
''Ghar Ka Chirag'' (The Lamp That Lights The Home) is a 1967 Hindi social family melodrama film of Indian cinema. It was produced and directed by Jagdev Bhambri, who also wrote the screenplay. The lyricist was Kaifi Azmi, with music composed by Madan Mohan. The ensemble cast included Dharmendra, Waheeda Rehman, Biswajit, Balraj Sahni, Indrani Mukherjee and Abhi Bhattacharya. ''Ghar Ka Chirag'' was one of three children's films released in 1967 which "sought to portray the experiences of children placed in rather peculiar circumstances". The story revolves round a group of children who are kidnapped and then maimed by the ring-leader of a beggar's gang. In the process, unintentionally, the leader's son is blinded and made to beg. Though not a success at the box-office, the film received a three out of five star rating in ''Collections''. Dharam Singh Deol (born 8 December 1935), also known mononymously as Dharmendra, is an Indian actor, producer and politician who is known for his work in Hindi films. Kaifi Azmi
Kaifi Azmi (born Athar Husain Rizvi; 14 January 1919 – 10 May 2002) was an Indian Urdu poet. He is remembered as the one who brought Urdu literature to Indian motion pictures. Together with Pirzada Qasim, Jaun Elia and others he participated in many memorable Mushaira gatherings of the twentieth century. His wife was theatre and film actress Shaukat Kaifi. Mohammed Rafi
Mohammed Rafi (24 December 1924 – 31 July 1980) was an Indian playback singer and musician. He is considered to have been one of the greatest and most influential singers of the Indian subcontinent. Chand Usmani (3 January 1933 – 26 November 1989) was an Indian actress in Hindi films from the 1950s to the late 1980s. She won the 1971 Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress. Indrani Mukherjee (born 1 March 1942) is an Indian actress who worked in Hindi films during the 1960s and 1970s and starred in over 70 films.
