Gettin' Old
''Gettin' Old'' is the fourth studio album by American country music singer Luke Combs, released on March 24, 2023, through Columbia Records Nashville and River House Records. It followed less than a year after his third album '' Growin' Up'' (2022)—both albums were recorded together and are intended as companion albums. The album was preceded by the lead single " Love You Anyway". Combs embarked on a world tour the day after the album's release. Content Combs recorded '' Growin' Up'' and ''Gettin' Old'' together, but decided to release them as two separate albums. The title of the first promotional single, "Growin' Up and Gettin' Old" combines the two, and the two cover artworks can also be placed side by side. Combs co-wrote 15 of the 18 tracks, and the album also includes a cover of Tracy Chapman's "Fast Car". Like its companion album, Combs co-produced with Chip Matthews and Jonathan Singleton. Luke Albert Combs (; born March 2, 1990) is an American country music singer and songwriter. Born and raised in North Carolina, Combs began performing as a child, most notably performing at Carnegie Hall. Travis Meadows
Travis Meadows (born 1965) is an American country music singer and songwriter. He has released four albums and written a number of songs for other country artists. Early life Meadows was born in 1965 in Mississippi, growing up in Jackson. He began using drugs at an early age, and at 14 was diagnosed with bone cancer, which led to the loss of most of his right leg. Larry Franklin is an American Fiddler, mandolin and guitar player, session musician, and composer. His style embraces country, blues, rock and roll, jazz, and Western swing. Biography Early years Growing up in Whitewright, Texas, Franklin took up the fiddle at age 7. He was inspired by his father Louis Franklin and his great uncle Major Franklin, well-known Texas-style fiddlers. A steel guitar ( haw, kīkākila) is any guitar played while moving a steel bar or similar hard object against plucked strings. The bar itself is called a "steel" and is the source of the name "steel guitar". The instrument differs from a conventional guitar in that it is played without using frets; conceptually, it is somewhat akin to playing a guitar with one finger (the bar). Known for its portamento capabilities, gliding smoothly over every pitch between notes, the instrument can produce a sinuous crying sound and deep vibrato emulating the human singing voice. The pedal steel guitar is a Console steel guitar, console-type of steel guitar with pedals and knee levers that change the pitch of certain strings to enable playing more varied and complex music than any previous steel guitar design. Like all steel guitars, it can play unlimited glissando, glissandi (sliding notes) and deep vibrato, vibrati—characteristics it shares with the human voice. Paul Franklin (musician)
Paul V. Franklin (born May 31, 1954) is an American multi-instrumentalist, known mainly for his work as a steel guitarist. He began his career in the 1970s as a member of Barbara Mandrell's road band; in addition he toured with Vince Gill, Mel Tillis, Jerry Reed and Dire Straits. He has since become a prolific session musician in Nashville, playing on more than 500 albums. He has been named by the Academy of Country Music as Best Steel Guitarist on several occasions. Greg Morrow
Greg Morrow is an American drummer, percussionist, session musician, mixing engineer, and vocalist. Biography Morrow was born in Ripley, Tennessee and raised in Memphis. At age 11, Morrow and his band performed on a local TV show, and he participated in his first recording session. While working as a teen at the Drum Stand, Morrow's mentor was Dave Patrick, who taught him about drums and drum construction. In the 1980s, Morrow toured and recorded with the Christian ensemble DeGarmo and Key. Morrow then was a part of Amy Grant's touring band. Bryan Sutton is an American musician. Primarily known as a flatpicking acoustic guitar player, Sutton also plays mandolin, banjo, ukulele, and electric guitar. He also sings and writes songs. Patrick "Pat" Jay Buchanan is an American guitarist, known for his work with the band Cameo and as a Nashville-based session musician. Biography Early years Buchanan grew up in Jacksonville, Lake City, and Tallahassee, Florida. His father played bass in jazz bands and his mother is a singer.
