"Gettin' Hungry" is a song by American rock band the Beach Boys from their 1967 album ''Smiley Smile''. Credited on the label to Brian Wilson and Mike Love, it was released as a single on August 28, 1967, the second and last released on the original iteration of Brother Records. Background Asked for comment, Wilson said that he "just thought it would be a good single". It is one of the few songs on ''Smiley Smile'' that lack a definite connection to the aborted ''Smile'' project. The Faces
Faces are an English rock band formed in 1969 by members of Small Faces after lead singer and guitarist Steve Marriott left to form Humble Pie. The remaining Small Faces—Ian McLagan (keyboards), Ronnie Lane (electric bass, vocals), and Kenney Jones (drums and percussion)—were joined by Ronnie Wood (guitar) and Rod Stewart (lead vocals), both from the Jeff Beck Group, and the new line-up was renamed Faces. Celebration was a 1970s American rock band, fronted by Beach Boys lead singer Mike Love as well as members of the band King Harvest. Celebration released three albums before they broke up in 1979. Background During the late 1970s, Beach Boys frontman Mike Love began to work on outside projects. His first major work was with a new band, Celebration. The band featured members of the short lived band King Harvest as well as future and current Beach Boys live backing members. The band's first project was a soundtrack for the film '' Almost Summer'', which featured the lead single of the same name written by Love and his Beach Boys band mates Al Jardine and Brian Wilson.
