Germán Herrera (footballer, Born 1983)
Germán Gustavo Herrera (born 19 July 1983 in Granadero Baigorria, Santa Fe) is an Argentine retired forward. Club career Herrera played for Real Sociedad in 2006/07, before moving to San Lorenzo de Almagro, but only made two appearances for them before joining Gimnasia y Esgrima de La Plata. He then moved to Brazil to play for Corinthians and Grêmio, and for the 2010 season he joined Botafogo. In July 2012, he signed a contract with the UAE side Emirates Club. Granadero Baigorria
Granadero Baigorria is a city in the south of the province of Santa Fe, Argentina, located directly north of Rosario, on the western shore of the Paraná River, and forming part of the Greater Rosario metropolitan area. Its population is about 43,000 inhabitants (2015). Granadero Baigorria is named after Juan Bautista Baigorria, a cavalry soldier of the Mounted Grenadiers (''Granaderos a Caballo'') who fought for General José de San Martín in the battle of San Lorenzo on 3 February 1813, the first of the Argentine War of Independence. 2008 Campeonato Brasileiro Série B
The Campeonato Brasileiro Série B, namely the second level of Brazilian football league system, was contested by 20 teams in 2008. Giants Corinthians played Série B for the first time after its poor season in Série A in 2007. Also, former Série A champions Bahia returned from Série C. The tournament started on May 9 and Corinthians begun defeating CRB 3-2 in São Paulo. Due to its tradition and huge number of supporters, Corinthians attracted most of the attention from the media. UAE Division 1 Group A
UAE First Division League is the second tier of football league competition in the United Arab Emirates. As of 2020–21, the league features 15 sides who play each other in a home and away round-robin format, with a total of 28 games for each team. The top two sides gain promotion to the UAE Pro-League. On 29 May 2019, UAEFA announced that a UAE Second Division League to be established with smaller clubs, privately owned clubs, football academies with semi-professional teams compete for promotion to UAE Division one. The Copa do Brasil 2008 was the 20th staging of the Copa do Brasil, starting on February 13, 2008 and finishing on June 11, 2008. It was played by 64 teams, either qualified through their respected state championships (54) or by the CBF Rankings (10). The clubs that played the Copa Libertadores 2008 didn't participate in the Copa do Brasil 2008 because of scheduling problems. It was won by Sport-PE. Format The tournament was played in two-legged knockout stages. In the first two rounds the away team automatically goes through to the next round if they beat the home team by a 2-goal difference or more in the first leg. The away goals rule was used in the Copa do Brasil, which is an unusual feature when compared to other South American competitions. The FIFA U-20 World Cup is the biennial football world championship tournament for FIFA members’ men's national teams with players under the age of 20.
