Germany Men's National Under-21 Field Hockey Team
The Germany men's national under-21 field hockey team represents Germanyin men's international under-21 field hockey competitions and is controlled by the German Hockey Federation, the governing body for field hockey in Germany. The team competes in the EuroHockey Junior Championships which they have won six times. They have qualified for all Junior World Cups which they have won a record six times. German Hockey Federation
The German Hockey Federation (german: Deutscher Hockey-Bund or DHB) is the national governing body for field (and indoor) hockey in Germany. It was founded in 1909 in Bonn. It is situated in Mönchengladbach and had 66,145 members on 1 January 2006. The body is built by the club which are organised in subdivisions on the level of the States of Germany, ''Bundesländer''. The association itself is member of the DOSB (Deutscher Olympischer Sportbund), the European Hockey Federation, EHF and the International Hockey Federation, FIH. 2001 Men's Hockey Junior World Cup
The 2001 Men's Hockey Junior World Cup was the seventh edition of the Hockey Junior World Cup. It was held from 9–21 October October 2001 in Hobart, Australia. India won the tournament for the first time by defeating Argentina 6–1 in the final. Germany won the bronze medal by defeating England 5–1 in the third and fourth place playoff. The 2012 Sultan of Johor Cup was the second edition of the Sultan of Johor Cup, an annual invitational international men's under-21 field hockey tournament in Malaysia. The 2023 Men's FIH Hockey Junior World Cup was the 13th edition of the Men's FIH Hockey Junior World Cup, the biennial men's under-21 field hockey world championship organized by the International Hockey Federation. It was held at the Malaysia National Hockey Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 5 to 16 December 2023. Germany won a record-extending seventh title by defeating France 2–1 in the final. Field Hockey
Field hockey is a team sport structured in standard hockey format, in which each team plays with ten outfield players and a goalkeeper. Teams must drive a round hockey ball by hitting it with a hockey stick towards the rival team's shooting circle and then into the goal. The match is won by the team that scores the most goals. Matches are played on grass, watered turf, artificial turf, synthetic field, or indoor boarded surface. The stick is made of wood, carbon fibre, fibreglass, or a combination of carbon fibre and fibreglass in different quantities. The stick has two sides; one rounded and one flat; only the flat face of the stick is allowed to progress the ball. During play, goalkeepers are the only players allowed to touch the ball with any part of their body. A player's hand is considered part of the stick if holding the stick.
