Cali, Colombia
Santiago de Cali (), or Cali, is the capital of the Valle del Cauca department, and the most populous city in southwest Colombia, with 2,227,642 residents according to the 2018 census. The city spans with of urban area, making Cali the second-largest city in the country by area and the third most populous after Bogotá and Medellín. 2013 World Games
The 2013 World Games ( es, Juegos Mundiales 2013), the ninth World Games, were an international multi-sport event held in the city of Cali, Colombia, from July 25 to August 4. Host city allocation history The 2013 World Games were initially allocated to the German cities of Duisburg and Düsseldorf. However, at the end of 2008, Duisburg withdrew and Düsseldorf dropped out because both cities could not secure enough funding, partly as a result of the financial crisis of 2007–08 and the subsequent Great Recession. Two alternate cities came forward to the IWGA to bid for these Games: Pretoria, South Africa and Cali, Colombia. During The World Games 2009 in Kaohsiung, Chinese Taipei, the IWGA announced that Cali has won the right to host The World Games in 2013. Jonathan Horne
Jonathan Horne (born 17 January 1989) is a German karateka. At the 2018 World Karate Championships in Madrid, Spain, he won the gold medal in the men's +84 kg event. He represented Germany at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. He also won the gold medal in his event on seven occasions at the European Karate Championships, most recently at the 2021 European Karate Championships held in Poreč, Croatia. Career Horne won the gold medal in the men's kumite +80 kg event at the 2009 World Games held in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. In 2013, Horne represented Germany at the World Games held in Cali, Colombia and he won the gold medal in the men's kumite +84 kg event. Elena Richter
Elena Richter (born 3 July 1989) is a retired German archer. She contested the 2012 Summer Olympics in the women's individual competition, where she was eliminated in the second knockout round placing 30th place in the preliminary ranking round. Richter achieved her first senior title with gold medal at the 2012 World Field Archery Championships in Val d'Isère, and became Germany's first female winner of an Archery World Cup gold medal after victory in the tournament's opening stage in Shanghai. Richter was also a three-time German national champion, winning her third title in 2019 after defeating 2016 Olympic silver medalist Lisa Unruh. In 2019, she also won the gold medal in the women's individual event at the 2019 Military World Games held in Wuhan, China. The field archery competition at the 2013 World Games was held from July 25 to August 1 in Cali, Colombia Colombia (, ; ), officially the Republic of Colombia, is a country in South America with insular regions in North America—near Nicaragua's Caribbean coast—as well as in the Pacific Ocean. The compound competition, which took the format of a fixed distance outdoor Olympic-style knockout, took place from 25 July to 28 July, with the preliminary rounds at De La Caña Park and the finals at the Mundalista Roller Skating stadium. The recurve and barebow field archery competitions took place in the San Antonio Hills Park from 29 July to 1 August.
