Gerhard C. Kallevig
Gerhard Charles Kallevig (27 July 1880 – 9 August 1964) was a Norwegian businessman in transport and insurance. Personal life He was born in Kristiania as a son of director August Kallevig (1851–1924) and Wenche von der Lippe Mowinckel (1857–1939). He was a brother of Arthur and Waldemar Kallevig. On the maternal side he was a great-grandson of Bishop Jacob von der Lippe and a first cousin once removed of Gerhard Gran. His sister Kirsten Antoinette married Christian Wisbech, and his niece Amélie married Nils Ramm. Gerhard Kallevig was himself married to Vera Tschudi, a daughter of Anton Tschudi. Career Gerhard C. Kallevig took commercial education in London and Hamburg, stayed in Fredrikstad and Northern Sweden and also worked in Germany for one year before starting his own trade firm in 1900. Lærdal
Lærdal is a municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located on the south side of the Sognefjorden in the traditional district of Sogn. The administrative center of the municipality is the village of Lærdalsøyri. The old Filefjell Kongevegen road passes through Lærdal on its way to Valdres and later to Oslo. The municipality is the 71st largest by area out of the 356 municipalities in Norway (with over half of this area consisting of mountains). The Norwegian Society (''Norske Selskab'') was a literary society for Norwegian students in Copenhagen active from 1772 to 1813. Its members included authors, poets and philosophers. The Norwegian Society was formed in 1772 by Ove Gjerløw Meyer. Their meeting place was Madame Juel's Coffeehouse ('' madame Juels Kaffehus'') in the ''Læderstræde''. It was a gentlemen's club, with the exception of the waitress Karen Bach and the poet Magdalene Sophie Buchholm, and the meetings were lively with speakers, song and discussion, poetry recitation improvisations and relatively significant intakes of punch. The club considered itself culturally conservative and devoted to the rationalistic empirical style of Ludvig Holberg. SK Fram (Oslo)
Skiklubben Fram was a Norwegian skiing club, based in Oslo but with its sporting facilities in Vestre Aker—and from 1902 to 1923 in Oppland. Fram was founded in 1889, and after a down period around 1900 it was refurbished as an exclusive gentlemen's social club in a skiing setting. Dovrefjell
Dovrefjell is a mountain range in Central Norway that forms a natural barrier between Eastern Norway and Trøndelag. The mountain range is located in Innlandet, Møre og Romsdal, and Trøndelag counties in Norway. As a result of its central location, its valleys and passes have been heavily trafficked during and probably preceding historical times. Several mountain inns were established in the Middle Ages to house pilgrims traveling through Dovrefjell to Trondheim, and there are even ruins of an old leper colony in the northern area of it. The main south-north highway ( European route E6) and the Dovrebanen railway line both run through a mountain pass in the Dovrefjell range. The highway is a year-round highway but on rare occasions it is closed for short periods during heavy winter weather conditions. is a municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Østerdalen. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Elverum.
