Georges De Porto-Riche
Georges de Porto-Riche (20 May 1849, Bordeaux, Gironde – 5 September 1930, Paris) was a French dramatist and novelist. Biography Georges was born into a Jewish-Italian assimilated family. At the age of twenty, his pieces in verse began to be produced at the Parisian theatres; he also wrote some books of verse which met with a favorable reception, but these early works were not reprinted. In Germaine, the passionate and exacting heroine of ''Amoureuse'', Mme Réjane found one of her best parts. In 1898 he published ''Théâtre d'amour'', which contained four of his most celebrated pieces: ''La Chance de Françoise'', ''L'Infidèle'', ''Amoureuse'', and ''Le Passé''. The title given to this collection indicates the difference between the plays of Porto-Riche, which focus on human emotion and psychological drama, and the political or sociological pieces of many of his contemporaries. Victor-Marie Hugo (; 26 February 1802 – 22 May 1885) was a French Romantic writer and politician. Hendrik Brugmans
Hendrik Brugmans (13 December 1906 in Amsterdam – 12 March 1997 in Bruges) also known as Hendrik Bupatis was the son of historian Hajo Brugmans and Maria Keizer. He studied history of French literature at the Universiteit van Amsterdam and the Sorbonne University in Paris. Brugmans, who was one of the intellectual leaders of the European Movement and co-founder and first president of the Union of European Federalists, was rector of the College of Europe in Bruges between 1950 and 1972. Brugmans was awarded the Karlspreis in 1951. In 1972 he retired from work, but he remained living in Bruges. Brugmans died at the age of 90 years in 1997. The year after his death the College of Europe honoured Brugmans by naming that academic year the ''Brugmans promotion'' and by creating an annual lecture named after him. Hermann Anastas Bahr (; 19 July 1863 – 15 January 1934) was an Austrian writer, playwright, director, and critic. Biography Born and raised in Linz, Bahr studied in Vienna, Graz, Czernowitz and Berlin, devoting special attention to philosophy, political economy, philology and law. During a prolonged stay in Paris, he discovered his interest in literature and art. He began working as an art critic, first in Berlin, then in Vienna. Richard Henry Marx (April 12, 1924 – August 12, 1997) was an American jazz pianist and arranger. He also composed for film, television, and commercials. Personal life Marx and wife Ruth (née Guildoo) had a son, Richard Marx, pop singer, songwriter, and record producer. Théâtre Tristan-Bernard
The théâtre Tristan-Bernard is a private Parisian theatre located at 64 rue du Rocher in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. History Built in 1911 by the foundation Léopold-Bellan (which still owns it today) to host meetings and educational shows of its institution of young girls, the venue opened in 1919 to the public under the name Théâtre Albert-I, in honor of king of Belgium.
