George Harold Stuart
George Harold Stuart-Bunning (1870–1951), born George Harold Stuart, was a British trade unionist. Born in Oldham, Stuart became a postman and an activist in the Postmen's Federation.''The Labour Who's Who: 1927'', p.210 He also became active in the Labour Party, and stood unsuccessfully in York at the 1906 general election, then in the 1908 Dundee by-election. Although this second candidature was endorsed by the Scottish section of the party, its National Executive refused to back him, as the party already held the other Dundee seat, and was concerned that it would over-reach itself. Despite this, Keir Hardie spoke on Stuart's platform, and the ''Dundee Courier'' enthusiastically reported his criticisms of the ultimately successful Liberal Party candidate, Winston Churchill.K. D. George Okill Stuart
George Okill Stuart (June 29, 1776 – October 5, 1862) was an Anglican clergyman and educator who was born into a Loyalist family that came to Canada in 1781. He was born at Fort Hunter near Amsterdam, New York, the son of the Reverend John Stuart and Jane Okill. The family first settled in Montreal but moved to Cataraqui (now Kingston, Ontario) in 1785 . Stuart studied at his father's schools in Montreal and Kingston. He went on to study at Union College in Schenectady, New York and at King's College in Windsor, Nova Scotia. Stuart opened a school in Kingston in 1795. His formal education was completed at Harvard College, which granted him an AB in 1801. By that time he had been ordained a deacon of the Church of England in Canada now the Anglican Church of Canada. Stuart was sent to York (later Toronto). Lord George Stuart
Lord George Stuart, CB (1 Mar 1780 – 19 February 1841 at Balls Park, Hertfordshire) was a Rear-Admiral of the Blue in the Royal Navy. Origin He was from a side-branch of the Stuart family, descended from the Scottish King Robert II. He was the seventh son of John Stuart, 1st Marquess of Bute and his wife Charlotte Jane. He received the courtesy title Lord Stuart after his father became the first Marquess of Bute in 1796. Among his brothers were ''Charles Stuart'', who died in 1796 aboard HMS ''Leda'' and Captain William Stuart RN. Life After attending Eton College, he joined the Royal Navy in November 1793 as a midshipman. George Stuart (classicist)
George Stuart FRSE LLD (1715–18 June 1793) was an 18th-century Scottish classicist. He was joint founder of the Royal Society of Edinburgh in 1783. Life From 1741 to 1775 he was Professor of Humanities at the University of Edinburgh also serving as the University Librarian during this period. The humanities course included the teaching of Latin and the study of Roman Antiquities. In 1773 he was living in private rooms at Old College. He corresponded with many well-known figures of the period including William Smellie David Steuart Erskine, 11th Earl of Buchan and William Little of Liberton. He died at Fisherrow in Musselburgh on 18 June 1793.
