George Roberts (Victorian Politician)
George Ernest Roberts (15 February 1868 – 25 November 1925) was an Australian politician. Born in Hotham to engine-fitter George Roberts and Mary Dargie, he became a hairdresser at Collins Street, Rutherglen and Richmond. On 5 April 1890 he married music teacher Mary Maud Brown. In 1903 he was elected to the Victorian Legislative Assembly as the Labor member for Richmond, but he was defeated in 1904. He left the Labor Party soon afterwards in opposition to the Catholic influence. North Melbourne, Victoria
North Melbourne is an inner-city suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, north-west of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Melbourne local government area. North Melbourne recorded a population of 14,953 at the 2021 census. North Melbourne is bounded by the CityLink freeway to the west, Victoria Street to the south, O'Connell and Peel Streets to the east and Flemington Road to the north. The Parliament of Victoria is the bicameral legislature of the Australian state of Victoria that follows a Westminster-derived parliamentary system. Prahran (), also pronounced colloquially as Pran, is an inner suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 5 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Stonnington local government area. Prahran recorded a population of 12,203 at the 2021 census. Prahran is a part of Greater Melbourne, with many shops, restaurants and cafes. Chapel Street is a mix of upscale fashion boutiques and cafes.
