George Perkins Marsh
George Perkins Marsh (March 15, 1801July 23, 1882), an American diplomat and philologist, is considered by some to be America's first environmentalist and by recognizing the irreversible impact of man's actions on the earth, a precursor to the sustainability concept, although "conservationist" would be more accurate. The Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park in Vermont takes its name, in part, from Marsh. His 1864 book ''Man and Nature'' had a great impact in many parts of the world. George Walbridge Perkins
George Walbridge Perkins I (January 31, 1862 – June 18, 1920) was an American politician and businessman. He was a leader of the Progressive Movement, especially Theodore Roosevelt's presidential candidacy for the Progressive Party in 1912. Starting as an office boy, he became a leading executive in insurance, steel, and banking and was always on the alert for new and better ways to do business. He was a top aide to financier J. P. Morgan and handled complex issues involving U.S. Steel, International Harvester, and other large corporations and insurance companies. He was vice-president of New York Life Insurance Company and a partner in J.P. Morgan & Co. He served as president of the Palisades Interstate Park Commission from its creation in 1900 to his death. George Henry Perkins
George Henry Perkins (25 September 1844, East Cambridge, Massachusetts - 12 September 1933) was an American naturalist. He was the state entomologist and geologist for Vermont. Biography He was educated at the Knox Academy, Galesburg, Illinois, and at Yale, where he graduated in 1867, and in 1869 received the degree of Ph.D. there for postgraduate studies. In 1869 he was appointed as professor of natural history in the University of Vermont, and in 1898 he became dean of the natural science department. Beginning in 1880, he held the office of state entomologist of Vermont. In 1895, he left that post to become the state geologist. He devoted considerable study to the archaeology of the Champlain Valley, concerning which he wrote numerous articles for periodicals and the transactions of scientific societies of which he was a member. This is a list in alphabetical order of cricketers who have played for Middlesex County Cricket Club in top-class matches since the club was formally constituted in February 1864. Like the Middlesex county teams formed by earlier organisations from the early 18th century, the county club has always held first-class status.ACS, ''First-Class Matches'', p. 11. It has also run a List A team since the beginning of limited overs cricket in 1963;, as well as a top-class Twenty20 team since the inauguration of the Twenty20 Cup in 2003. These are three separate categories.
