George Page (television Presenter)
George Henson Page (31 March 1935 – 28 June 2006) was an American television host, known for his love for nature and his unique and mellifluous voice. He created the PBS series ''Nature'', and hosted and narrated it from its beginning in 1982 until his retirement in 1998. He was also the director of Science and Natural History Programming at the PBS station Thirteen/WNET. In between seasons of ''Nature'', he also hosted and narrated two series: ''The Brain'' (1983) and ''The Mind'' (1988). Before his time with PBS, Page had a long career in broadcast journalism, mostly at NBC. In 1990, Emory University, the school Page had graduated from in 1957, awarded him with the honorary degree Doctor of Humane Letters, citing his "contributions to science education in the United States". Charlie Rose
Charles Peete Rose Jr. (born January 5, 1942) is an American former television journalist and talk show host. From 1991 to 2017, he was the host and executive producer of the talk show '' Charlie Rose'' on PBS and Bloomberg LP. Rose also co-anchored ''CBS This Morning'' from 2012 to 2017 alongside Gayle King and Norah O'Donnell. Rose formerly substituted for the anchor of the ''CBS Evening News''. Rose, along with Lara Logan, hosted the revived CBS classic ''Person to Person'', a news program during which celebrities are interviewed in their homes, originally hosted from 1953 to 1961 by Edward R. Murrow. In November 2017, Rose was fired from CBS and PBS after ''The Washington Post'' published multiple in-house allegations of sexual harassment from the late 1990s to 2011. His employment at CBS was also terminated, and his eponymous show, ''Charlie Rose'', which used to air on PBS and Bloomberg, was cancelled. Male ( symbol: ♂) is the sex of an organism that produces the gamete (sex cell) known as sperm, which fuses with the larger female gamete, or ovum, in the process of fertilization. Pace University is a private university with its main campus in New York City and secondary campuses in Westchester County, New York. It was established in 1906 by the brothers Homer St. Clair Pace and Charles A. Pace as a business school. Pace enrolls about 13,000 students in bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs. The degree of Doctor of Humane Letters (; DHumLitt; DHL; or LHD) is an honorary degree awarded to those who have distinguished themselves through humanitarian and philanthropic contributions to society. Hartwell is a city in Hart County, Georgia, United States. The population was 4,469 at the 2010 census. The city is the county seat of Hart County. ''Nature'' is a wildlife television program produced by Thirteen/WNET New York. It has been distributed to United States public television stations by the PBS television service since its debut on October 10, 1982. Some episodes may appear in syndication on many PBS member stations around the United States and Canada, and on the Discovery Channel. This series currently airs on Wednesday on PBS. It is a weekly one-hour program that consists of documentaries about various animals and ecosystems. The on-camera host of the first season was Donald Johanson, with voice-over narration by George Page.
