Georg Christian Knapp
Georg Christian Knapp (17 September 1753 – 14 October 1825) was a German Protestant theologian. Biography He was born in Glaucha, now a part of Halle, and received his early education in the orphan school at Halle (german: Franckesche Stiftungen), of which his father was director. He later studied theology at the Universities of Halle and Göttingen. In 1777 he was an associate professor at Halle, where in 1782 he became a full professor of theology. In 1785 he was appointed ''Kondirektor'' of the ''Franckesche Stiftungen'' (Francke Foundations), where beginning in 1799, along with August Hermann Niemeyer, he served as co-director. He died in Halle.

Georg Friedrich Knapp (; March 7, 1842 – February 20, 1926) was a German economist who in 1905 published ''The State Theory of Money'', which founded the chartalist school of monetary theory, which argues that money's value derives from its issuance by an institutional form of government rather than spontaneously through relations of exchange. Biography Knapp was born on March 7, 1842. His father was the acclaimed chemist Friedrich Ludwig Knapp. Knapp studied in Munich, Berlin and Göttingen, and in 1867 became director of the Statistical Bureau of Leipzig. In 1869 he was appointed assistant professor of economics and statistics in the University of Leipzig. In 1874 he was appointed a professor of political economy at the University of Strasbourg, where he remained until 1918. He was also rector at Strasbourg in 1891–1892 and 1907–1908. George Owen Knapp
George Owen Knapp (January 21, 1855 – July 21, 1945) was a wealthy industrialist and philanthropist. He was the President of Peoples Gas Light and Coke Company in Chicago, by 1893. In 1894 he was a founder of the Union Calcium Carbide Company which he reformulated as Union Carbide in 1904. He was CEO and President, and the board chair of Union Carbide until 1933. Knapp's philanthropy was broad, but where he focused it was in medical care. He funded the growth and provided key leadership to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital starting in 1914. In 1931 he funded the Knapp Hospital in Crescent City, California. Background Knapp grew up in Hatfield, Massachusetts, son of Jared Owen Knapp and Sara Elizabeth Beach Knapp. He attended Hatfield High School and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, graduating in 1876 with a degree in Civil Engineering. George T. Knapp (born April 18, 1953) is an American television investigative journalist, news anchor, conspiracy theorist, and talk radio host. Knapp's earlier work has been recognized with Edward R. Murrow Awards, Peabody Awards, and 24 Pacific Southwest Regional Emmy Awards. A longtime fixture in Las Vegas media, he works at KLAS-TV and is also a frequent host of the Sunday night/Monday morning '' Coast To Coast AM'' syndicated radio show.
