George Frend
George Frend (born 1970) is an Irish former hurling, hurler. At club level he played with Toomevara GAA, Toomevara, and also lined out at inter-county level with various Tipperary GAA, Tipperary teams. Career Frend first played hurling at juvenile and underage levels with the Toomevara GAA, Toomevara club, winning numerous championship titles from under-12 up to under-21 level. He later won three successive Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship, Tipperary SHC medals from 1992 to 1994. The second of these victories was later converted into a Munster Senior Club Hurling Championship, Munster Club SHC title, before later losing the 1994 All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship final, 1994 All-Ireland club final to Sarsfields GAA (Galway), Sarsfields. Frend was later part of the Toomevara four-in-a-row team from 1998 to 2001. He claimed an eighth and final Tipperary SHC medal in 2003. 1993–94 National Hurling League
The 1993–94 National Hurling League was the 63rd edition of the National Hurling League, which ran from 17 October 1993 until 8 May 1994. Thirty-two teams participated in the league, comprising four divisions of eight teams. Two points were awarded for a win and one point was awarded for a drawn game. Tipperary Intermediate Hurling Championship
The Tipperary Intermediate Hurling Championship is an annual hurling competition organised by the Tipperary County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1979 for the third-tier hurling teams in the county of Tipperary in Ireland. The series of games are played during the summer and autumn months with the county final currently being played at Semple Stadium in October. The championship has always been played on a regional basis, whereby the respective champions from the Mid, North, South and West championships contest the county series of games. However, in recent years, the championship has followed the same system as the senior grade in Tipperary. Currently (2018) there are 21 teams in the county championship divided up into 6 groups (3 groups with 4 teams, 3 groups with 3 teams). The North Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Hibernian Inn North Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship) is an annual hurling competition organised by the North Tipperary Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1907 for senior hurling teams in North Tipperary, Ireland. The series of games begins in March, with the championship culminating with the final in August. The championship has always been played using a knock-out format. The North Tipperary Championship was, until recent times, an integral part of the wider Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship.
