George Davison (photographer)
George Davison (19 September 1854 – 26 December 1930) was an English photographer, a proponent of impressionistic photography, a co-founder of the Linked Ring Brotherhood of British artists and a managing director of Kodak UK. He was also a millionaire, thanks to an early investment in Eastman Kodak. Biography Even George Davison was born in Lowestoft, into the poor family of a shipyard carpenter. He received a good education, and gained employment as a civil servant at Somerset House, London in 1874. He began to make photographs in 1885, and he joined the ''Camera Club'' photography society around that time. He took part in a Royal Photographic Society exhibition the next year, and became a member. He was influenced by naturalistic photographers in the early phase of his work, especially Peter Henry Emerson. George Davison (merchant)
George Davison (died February 21, 1799) was a businessman and political figure in Quebec. His surname also sometimes appears as Davidson. He came to Quebec around 1773 and acquired lands in the seigneury of Rivière-du-Loup. He was in business in partnership with his older brother Alexander. Davison was named to the Legislative Council of Quebec in 1783. During the 1780s, he operated a farm on a large estate near the current site of Louiseville, Quebec. He served as a director of the Quebec Agricultural Society, formed in 1789. In 1786, the two brothers were given a lease for the king's posts on the north shore of the lower Saint Lawrence River. Davison returned to England in 1791, although he still had business interests in Canada and, with his brother, held a contract to supply the British forces in North America. George Davison (born 1890) was a professional association footballer, who played in the Southern League for Coventry City and Bristol Rovers. Davison joined Coventry from Blyth Spartans in 1913, and scored eighteen times in the Southern League during the 1913–14 season. He signed for Bristol Rovers on 27 April 1914 for a large, though undisclosed, transfer fee. The book for the musical was written by Michael Stewart, John Pascal, and Francine Pascal. Music and lyrics were by George M. Cohan himself, with revisions for the musical by Cohan's daughter, Mary Cohan. The story covers the period from the late 1880s until 1937 and focuses on Cohan's life and show business career from his early days in vaudeville with his parents and sister to his later success as a Broadway singer, dancer, composer, lyricist, theatre director and producer. George Thomas William Davison (born April 1965) is a priest of the Church of Ireland. Since 2020, he has served as the Bishop of Connor. Early life and education Davison was born in April 1965, and grew up in south Belfast, Northern Ireland. He was studied theology at the University of St Andrews, graduating with a Bachelor of Divinity (BD) degree in 1988. He then attended Oak Hill College, a conservative evangelical theological college in London, and the Church of Ireland Theological College in Dublin. He graduated from the latter with a Bachelor of Theology (BTh) degree in 1992. Ordained ministry He was ordained as a deacon in 1992 and priest in 1993. After a curacy at Portadown he was the incumbent at Kinawley from 1995 to 2009; and Archdeacon of Kilmore from 2003 to 2009.
