George Barnett
George Barnett (December 9, 1859April 27, 1930) was the 12th Commandant of the United States Marine Corps. He was a pioneer of amphibious warfare and the U.S. Marine Commandant during American involvement in World War I. Early life and education Barnett was born on December 9, 1859, in Lancaster, Wisconsin, and grew up in Boscobel, Wisconsin. He entered the U.S. Naval Academy in June 1877, graduating in 1881 with the first academy class to provide officers to the Marine Corps. After spending two years at sea as a cadet-midshipman aboard , he was transferred to the Marine Corps and was appointed a second lieutenant on 1 July 1883. While serving as a second lieutenant he did duty at the various Marine Barracks in the eastern part of the United States and commanded the Marine contingent at Sitka, Alaska, for three years. George Ezra Barnett (born 7 June 1993) is an English singer, songwriter and guitarist. After releasing two EPs, '' Did You Hear the Rain?'' (2013) and '' Cassy O''' (2014), Ezra rose to prominence with the release of his hit single, "Budapest", which reached number one in several countries. His debut studio album, ''Wanted on Voyage,'' was released in June 2014, reaching number one in the UK and the top ten in seven other countries. George Barnett (musician Born 1988)
George Barnett (born 9 August 1988) is the English drummer of the band These New Puritans. He is also a male model, having appeared in campaigns for brands such as Burberry, Lanvin and Valentino. Career At 18, he worked for designer and photographer Hedi Slimane at Dior Homme in Paris from 2006 to 2007, after a chance meeting. He went on to both walk and co-write the soundtrack for the A/W 2007 show, both the show and music received good reviews one stating "..band du jour, These New Puritans, provided a sound track that left one wanting more, their drummer George Barnett made for an appealing muse...". When Hedi Slimane left Dior Homme, Barnett moved to London and recorded These New Puritans debut album, ''Beat Pyramid'', released in 2008 with his twin brother Jack Barnett. George Vern Barnett
George Vern Barnett (31 January 189115 April 1946) was an Australian organist, choir master and accompanist. He was an important figure in the musical and cultural life of Sydney for many years in the early twentieth century. Early life and career Barnett, usually known as Vern, was born in Carlton, a suburb of Melbourne. He was the son of George Vern Barnett, a dental surgeon, and his wife Margaret Sophia (née Woodward). The Barnetts lived in England and India before moving to Sydney in 1897. Barnett studied music under Edward Sykes and Edward Goll and became prominent on the Sydney musical scene as 'the boy wonder pianist'. George Barnett (11 February 1876 – 10 April 1965) was an Irish historian, archaeologist, botanist, geologist, folklorist and poet. Self-taught, he acquired a vast knowledge of the Sperrins, Sperrin Mountains through experience, experimentation, observation, and traditional lore. He discovered many prehistoric sites, although he is best known for his discovery of the Beaghmore stone circles, and developed the theory that they were an ancient lunar observatory. This theory was expressed in his poem, ''The Beaghmore Stone Circles''.
