Geoff Bugden
Geoff Bugden (born 6 September 1960) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1970s and 1980s. He played for Newtown and the Parramatta Eels in the Australian New South Wales Rugby League competition. He won two premierships with the Eels and he primarily played in the front-row. Playing career A Newtown junior, by 1979 Bugden had progressed to first grade. He was the first ever prop to win the NSW Rugby League's best and fairest player award, the Rothmans Medal, in 1980. Bugden was a reserve for the Newtown Jets side that lost the 1981 Grand Final against the Parramatta Eels. The next year, 1982, Geoff Bugden changed clubs and returned to the Sydney Cricket Ground playing for Parramatta in their Grand Final win over Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles. Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs
The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are an Australian professional rugby league football club based in Belmore, a suburb in the Canterbury-Bankstown region of Sydney. They compete in the NRL Telstra Premiership, as well as competitions facilitated by the New South Wales Rugby League, including the Canterbury Cup NSW, the Jersey Flegg Cup, Harvey Norman Women's Premiership, Tarsha Gale Cup, S. Jeremy Ticehurst is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1980s and 1990s. He played for Manly-Warringah, Parramatta and the Gold Coast Seagulls in the NSWRL competition. Playing career Ticehurst made his first grade debut for Manly in round 4 of the 1987 NSWRL season against defending premiers Parramatta at Brookvale Oval. Ticehurst came off the bench in a 26–4 victory. Ticehurst would play 14 games for Manly in 1987 as the club claimed their fifth premiership defeating Canberra in the grand final. Mark Robinson (rugby League)
Mark Robinson (born 5 October 1964) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played for the Penrith Panthers, Parramatta Eels and Canterbury Bulldogs. Rugby league career Robinson, a tall winger, was a local Penrith junior and made his Panthers first-grade debut in 1985. He played in Penrith's finals series that year but then didn't feature in the 1986 NSWRL season as he was suffering from pneumonia. In 1987 he returned to first-grade and was the leading try scorer that season for Penrith. In 1988 he moved to Parramatta and spent two seasons at the club, before being released. From 1990 to 1991 he played first-grade with Canterbury. Michael Moseley (rugby League)
Michael Moseley (born 13 November 1960) is an Australian former rugby league footballer who played in the 1980s. He played for the Parramatta Eels and was a member of the 1986 premiership winning team. Career Moseley made his debut for Parramatta during the 1983 season against Newtown, but only played in one other game for the season and was not a part of the 1983 premiership winning team. Peter Sterling (rugby League Commentator)
Peter Maxwell John Sterling (born 16 June 1960) nicknamed Sterlo, is an Australian former rugby league commentator, television personality and player. He was one of the all-time great halfbacks and a major contributor to Parramatta Eels' dominance of the New South Wales Rugby League premiership in the 1980s. Sterling played eighteen Tests for the Australian national team between 1982 and 1988. He also played in thirteen State of Origins for New South Wales, winning man of the match on four occasions (one of them being the 1987 exhibition match played in the USA). 1990 NSWRL Season
The 1990 New South Wales Rugby League season was the eighty-third season of professional rugby league football in Australia. Sixteen clubs competed for the J J Giltinan Shield and Winfield Cup during the premiership season, which culminated in a grand final between the previous season's premiers, the Canberra Raiders and the Penrith Panthers, who were making their grand final debut. Season summary For the 1990 season, the salary cap was introduced in the New South Wales Rugby League premiership. Twenty-two regular season rounds were played from March till August, resulting in a top six of Canberra, Brisbane, Penrith, Manly, Balmain and Newcastle.
