Gegege No Kitarō
, originally known as , is a Japanese manga series created in 1960 by Shigeru Mizuki. It is best known for its popularization of the folklore creatures known as ''yōkai'', a class of spirit-monster which all of the main characters belong to. This story was an early 20th-century Japanese folk tale performed on ''kamishibai''. It has been adapted for the screen several times, as anime, live action, and video games. The word in the title is similar to Japanese sound symbolism for a cackling noise but refers to Mizuki's childhood nickname, a mispronounciation of his given name. Selections of the manga and the theatrical live-action films have been published in English, simply titled ''Kitaro''. The 2018 anime series is streamed with English subtitles as ''GeGeGe no Kitaro''. is a Japanese animator and director. He joined Toei Doga (now Toei Animation) as animator in 1981. After doing several TV series, he was promoted to assistant director on '' Dr. Slump - Arale-chan'' in 1982. is a prolific Japanese composer and arranger for anime and video game series. His anime composition credits include ''Naruto Shippuden'', ''Fairy Tail'', ''Log Horizon'', '' Shiki'', ''Hell Girl'', and ''Record of Ragnarok''. Seiji Yokoyama
was a Japanese incidental music composer from Hiroshima. He graduated from the Kunitachi College of Music in 1957. Yokoyama is best known for his work on the anime series ''Saint Seiya'' and ''Space Pirate Captain Harlock'', and for his symphonic sound for many television programs. In 1992, he won the JASRAC award for his work on ''Saint Seiya''. On July 8, 2017, Yokoyama died from pneumonia at age 82. is a Japanese Block programming, programming block on Fuji TV devoted to anime, originally broadcast every Thursday late night/Friday morning from 00:45 to 1:15. It was launched with the intention of expanding the target audience beyond the typical young male demographic. The block debuted in April 2005 as a half-hour block. All anime production under the block are joint-venue by Fuji TV, Dentsu and usually Sony Music Entertainment Japan or Aniplex. is a Japanese screenwriter from Atami, Japan. History After graduating from Nihon University's Art Department with a degree in film studies, Hasegawa made his debut as an assistant director with the unreleased film ''Kuchita Teoshiguruma''.
