Fred Gavin Gordon (April 7, 1901 – April 6, 1983) was an American film, television, and radio actor. Life and career Born Fred Gavin Gordon in Chicora, Wayne County, Mississippi, he worked as a railway clerk and attended acting school in his spare time. He landed his first part on stage at the age of nineteen. After a film test, Gordon starred as Greta Garbo's leading man in ''Romance'' (1930). With his distinctive voice, Gordon acted in numerous radio dramas He died in Canoga Park, California on the day before his 82nd birthday. Gavin Gordon (24 November 190118 November 1970) was a Scottish bass singer, actor and composer, best known for his 1935 Hogarthian ballet ''The Rake's Progress''. Biography Gavin Gordon was born in Ayr, Scotland in 1901, as Gavin Muspratt Gordon Brown. He went to Rugby School then studied music at the Royal College of Music in London under Ralph Vaughan Williams and other teachers. His ballets ''A Toothsome Morsel'' (1930), ''Regatta'' (1931), ''The Death of Hector'' and ''The Scorpions of Ysit'' (1932) did not remain in the repertory. More lasting fame, however, was accorded to ''The Rake's Progress'' (1935), based on the sequence of seven pictures by William Hogarth known as ''A Rake's Progress''. Gavin Gordon also wrote some orchestral works, including parodies of old-style dances such as ''Four Caricatures'' and ''Work in E major''. Gavin Gordon (footballer)
Gavin Kenyatta Gordon (born 24 June 1979) is an English former professional footballer who played as a striker. Gordon played in the Football League between 1995 and 2006, playing for Hull City, Lincoln City, Cardiff City, Oxford United and Notts County. In 2006, he moved into Non-league football and appeared for Crawley Town and Histon before retiring in 2008. In 2012, he joined the coaching staff of Sleaford Town and also shortly afterwards he came out of retirement as well as continuing his role as a coach. Career A youth player at Hull City, Gordon became the second youngest player to ever play for them when he came on as a substitute against Coventry City in the Football League Cup. But he struggled to ever establish himself at Hull and was allowed to leave and join Lincoln City for £30,000 in November 1997 where he formed a very effective strike partnership with Lee Thorpe.
