Gaskill Township, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania
Gaskill Township is a township in Jefferson County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 675 at the 2020 census. It was named for Charles C. Gaskill, agent of the Holland Land Company. Geography Gaskill Township occupies the southeastern corner of Jefferson County, and is bordered to the east by Clearfield County and to the south by Indiana County. It is bordered to the northwest by the borough of Big Run. According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of , of which are land and , or 0.56%, are water. Mahoning Creek, a tributary of the Allegheny River, forms the northwestern border of the township. Unincorporated communities in the township include Winslow, Bowersville and Foxburg. Gudy Gaskill
Gudrun "Gudy" Gaskill (1927 – July 14, 2016) was an American mountaineer who is regarded as the driving force behind the creation of the Colorado Trail, a hiking, biking, and horseback riding path between Denver and Durango, Colorado. Beginning in the 1970s, she helped plan out the route, solicited donations, and recruited teams of volunteers to work in one-week shifts developing the Trail each summer. She was named executive director of the newly formed Colorado Trail Foundation in 1987. She was inducted into the Colorado Women's Hall of Fame in 2002. Early life and education Gudrun Timmerhaus was born in Palatine, Illinois, to Paul and Elsa Timmerhaus. The Colorado Trail is a long-distance trail running for from the mouth of Waterton Canyon southwest of Denver to Durango in Colorado, United States. Its highest point is above sea level, and most of the trail is above . Despite its high elevation, the trail often dips below the alpine timberline to provide refuge from the exposed, storm-prone regions above. Jerry Wayne Gaskill (born December 27, 1957) is an American Rock music, rock musician who is the drummer for King's X. History Gaskill has been interested in making music and playing drums for as long as he can remember. His father bought him his first drum, a snare, at the age of 4. From there, he pieced together a full kit. He grew up in a very musical family with both his dad and brother being guitar players. The three actually started an all-instrumental band called ''Jerry and the Knights''. Gaskill played his first bar gig when he was seven years old with this group and was paid $2 for his efforts. ''Jerry and the Knights'' played at different functions such as talent shows, wedding receptions, parties and so on until his mid-teens. Malcolm John Gaskill FRHistS (born 22 April 1967) is an English academic historian and writer on crime, magic, witchcraft, spiritualism, and the supernatural. Gaskill was a professor in the history department of the University of East Anglia from 2011 until 2020, when he retired from teaching to give more time to writing. Mary A. Gaskill (born December 1, 1941) is an American politician who was the Iowa State Representative from the 81st District. She served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 2003 to 2021. Gaskill served on several committees in the Iowa House - the Environmental Protection committee; the State Government committee; the Transportation committee; and the Local Government committee, where she was chair. William Gaskill
William "Bill" Gaskill (24 June 1930 – 4 February 2016) was a British theatre director who was "instrumental in creating a new sense of realism in the theatre". Described as "a champion of new writing", he was also noted for his productions of Bertolt Brecht and Restoration comedy. Born in Shipley, West Yorkshire, Gaskill was educated at Salt High School, Shipley, where he ran an amateur theatre with Tony Richardson. He won a scholarship to attend Hertford College at Oxford University, where he began directing, and he subsequently studied in Paris with Étienne Decroux. He received a nomination for the Tony Award for Best Director in 1959 for his direction of ''Epitaph for George Dillon'' on Broadway.
