Garrett Antony-Charles Mitchell (born September 4, 1998) is an American professional baseball center fielder for the Milwaukee Brewers of Major League Baseball (MLB). Mitchell was selected 20th overall by the Brewers in the 2020 Major League Baseball draft, 2020 MLB draft. Early life and high school Mitchell grew up in Orange, California, and attended the Lutheran High School of Orange County, where he was a four-year member of the varsity baseball team. He was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at nine years old. Regarded as a top collegiate prospect, Mitchell committed to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) to play college baseball for the UCLA Bruins baseball, UCLA Bruins during his sophomore year at Lutheran. Garrett Mitchell (born September 2, 1991) is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward who currently plays for the Rockford IceHogs in the American Hockey League (AHL). He was selected in the sixth round 175th overall by the Washington Capitals in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career He played junior hockey for the Regina Pats of the WHL, serving as team captain his final year (2010–2011). He was selected by Washington Capitals in the sixth round (175th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. He signed his three-year entry-level contract with the Capitals on March 19, 2011, just after the Regina Pats concluded their 2010–11 season.
