''Garfield and Friends'' is an American animated television series based on the comic strip '' Garfield'' by Jim Davis. The show aired on CBS as part of its Saturday morning children's lineup from September 17, 1988, to December 10, 1994. The show features animated story lines adapted from the comic strip ''Garfield'' and Davis's other comic strip '' U.S. Acres''. Mark Evanier was the show's head writer. Lorenzo Music provided the voice of Garfield the cat, the strip's title character, as he had done since '' Here Comes Garfield'' in 1982. Other voices present on the show included Thom Huge as Jon Arbuckle, Garfield's human owner, and Gregg Berger as Odie the dog, also returning from prior ''Garfield'' animated media. Julie Payne is an American television, film and stage actress who, in a career lasting over four decades, has specialized primarily in comedy roles as well as voice acting. Mitchell Lee Schauer (pronounced "shower") (born December 18, 1955) is an American animation professional who has been involved television programs and feature films since 1978. He is perhaps best known as the creator of the Nickelodeon series '' The Angry Beavers''. Schauer cited 1960s cartoons such as ''The Pink Panther'', ''The Flintstones'', and ''The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends'' as primary influences for his work. George Singer
George John Singer (1786–1817) was an English early pioneer of electrical research, noted for his publications and for lectures delivered privately and at the Russell Institution.
