Gareth McAuley (born 14 October 1992) is a Northern Irish skeet shooter. Early life Gareth McAuley was born in Ballymoney, County Antrim in 1992. Career McAuley started his shooting career at Route Gun Club, Ballymoney at the age of 16 in 2009, shooting English Skeet, and progressed onto Olympic Skeet the following year. Clay pigeon shooting, also known as clay target shooting, is a shooting sport involving shooting a firearm at special flying targets known as clay pigeons, or clay targets. The terminology commonly used by clay shooters often relates to times past, when live-pigeon competitions were held.
